A Word from Josh: After one year away, we're back at Syttende Mai. This is a cultural celebration that spreads across much of downtown Stoughton throughout the day and culminates with our performance in the Mandt Community Center Ice Arena in the evening. The facility is very spacious and the stage they set up for us is huge so we are able to use every aspect of the staging, sound and lights that we have. That makes for a pretty cool show. The weather was spectacular and I spent quite a bit of time walking around the city taking in the atmosphere that is Syttende Mai. As showtime approached the trickle of people entering the arena became a flood and our first notes were greeted by a pretty strong crowd. Event staff provided us with soft pretzels which I partook in during the break even though it was in violation of my low-carb diet. Yes, these pretzels are that good. Karma got the best of me after the show when I accepted another pretzel and proceeded to break a took while eating it. Yikes. Still, I'd have to say that this was a pretty awesome show for us and we hope to do it again next year. --Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? : "" |
