"A Slice of the Pie" • Badger Bowl • October 31, 2015

Posted by Cherry Pie

A Word from Josh:
It is an overused phrase to say "this was the place to be" but tonight I think the Badger Bowl easily fit that description without exaggeration. Halloween is arguably the most fun and sexy holiday and Cherry Pie has always been a good fit for the Halloween spirit. And with Halloween falling on a Saturday this year, it was easy to anticipate an amazingly fun night at the Badger Bowl,... and that's exactly what we got. The place was full of people, most of whom were wearing some type of costume. During our break Frankie, Dave and I co-hosted the traditional costume contest when was won by a couple dressed as characters from the "Rocky Horror Picture Show." Well-deserved. Now, in general we've following a routine where we play at the Badger Bowl on Holidays including Halloween, New Year's Eve and Valentine's Day. The next time we play here will be the night before Thanksgiving and, according to his doctor, Johnny Spandex will be making his Madison return to the stage that night after being on "injured reserve" for the past three months. That will be an epic event. This also means that tonight was Charles' last show with us in his home town so we paid a bit of a tribute to him during the show expressing our appreciation for how well he has handled the lead vocal role in John's absence. In turn, Charles said some nice things about us and how much he appreciated the opportunity to perform with The Pie. Yes, Halloween turned into a bit of a love fest at the old Badger Bowl and, as always, we greatly appreciate all the people who came out to share it.     --Josh
