A Word from Josh: Our amazing soundman Matt Wobst woke up today feeling very under the weather so Frankie and Kevin arrived at the venue early to help set up the PA system. The rest of the band followed shortly behind and we ended up soundchecking quite early which left a lot of time to kill before showtime. I spent some of that time taking on some unneeded calories and watching Hat Trick playing to a strong crowd in another beer tent. Our show finally got underway and we quickly drew a pretty big crowd of our own. I was struck by the diversity of the audience in terms of gender, age, race and disability. It's not unusual to have some young children near the stage during the first set of a church festival show and tonight we had several including some that really got into the groove. What was surprising was how many young children I saw in the crowd during the second set, and as the hour grew later the children seemed to get younger!! Like the two-year-old on the shoulders of his Dad and another toddler in a stroller pushed in by his mother. And near the end of the show, when I thought I'd seen it all, I spotted someone watching the band from near the merchandise booth holding an infant... WTF!? I guess the church folks like to start 'em rocking young. We appreciate the people of all ages who came and celebrated life with the Pie tonight. -Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Dianne: "First time seeing you guys. All I can say is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!" Nic: "You guys were f***ing awesome!!! Thanks so much for making my night!!!!" Pamela: "Another enjoyable evening. Thank you." |
