A Word from Josh: I've said many times before that playing at the Verona Hometown Festival is one of our favorite traditions... and I meant it every time. This was our 9th consecutive year playing here and it's always a blast with a huge crowd getting crazy in an ideal setting. I've gone on about it so much that my wife finally decided it was worth a road trip to come see what all the fuss is about. She was suitably impressed and had a great time as did a couple thousand other people. A lot of other band family members were also in attendance including Kase's mother-in-law Karen who was visiting from Oklahoma brandishing a charming Kentucky accent. The weather was pretty close to perfect and the show went pretty smoothly. I heard from friends who said they could hear us from across town. The crowd was huge and very enthusiastic, bordering on crazy at times. It was great seeing the pride in the faces of our family members as they watched their husband, brother, uncle, father or son-in-law playing such an awesome show. -Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Bittersweeteus: "It turned out to be a gorgeous day and what a way to end it, to party with the PIE! As I got in my car, there's a voice in my head that drives my heel, to put the car in gear and head towards the place where I know where CherryPie will rock the night away and show us that there's only one way to rock. As I have my hand on the wheel, the radio's playing a forgotten song that I hope the PIE will play tonight. As I get closer to my destination, I keep my cool and gotta take care as I have to keep my anticipation from getting out of hand. I enter the beer tent and there's CherryPie playing hard and coming on strong. Even though they got booed later in the evening for not playing a great forgotten rock song, Thunderstruck, they kept the fans fueled throughout the night. It turned out to be a great night! But remember, in order to keep the train and car barreling down the track or highway, you have to make sure the majority if the car/train gets the attention it needs to keep it going instead of just keeping a few parts of it well taken care of. Plus, once in awhile, add a different kind of booster in the fuel to give it that extra jolt to go faster." |
