A Word from Josh: A lot of anticipation went into this show as our "first festival show" of the year. Technically one could argue that this show was very similar to the one in Manitowoc three weeks ago. Both were large scale shows with a festival vibe taking place inside large buildings (both of them defrosted ice arenas) as opposed to a typical festival beer tent. We played a Syttende Mai event in this venue once before back in 2011 but technically that was a different event (I'm speaking "technically" a lot today) because we were hired by the local Youth Hockey program. Tonight's show was produced as a fundraiser for the Stoughton County Fair which officially takes place on 4th of July weekend. Got all that straight?... Whatever. Anyway, tonight's show also marked the debut of some new equipment and technologies involved in our sound, lights and stage show. We are looking ahead at our busiest Summer schedule ever and we'll be hitting all those dates with the biggest, baddest, tightest, most ambitious rock show we've ever put together. The hundreds of people (many of them of Norwegian decent) who came into the Mandt Community Center tonight got a pretty good taste of this "New Improved Serving of Pie" and initial reactions have been very positive. Big thanks go out to the staff from the Stoughton Fair Association who did so much to make our experience a very positive one. And, of course, thanks to the Pie fans in Stoughton and Dane County for your continued support. We look forward to seeing many of you at Brat Fest in Madison next Sunday. It's a free event which is open to all ages and features a lot of bands. It's a great opportunity to share the Pie experience with your young'uns. -Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? rick: "drums sounded like thunder. that's how they should sound live. amazing everything was perfect except the vocals could have been a little louder. first time seeing you guys but won't be the last.my girlfriend and I loved every song on your set list. thanks for keeping this kind of rock alive" |
