A Word from Josh: We play private events very rarely, which is why it was very strange that tonight's show was our second private show in less than a week. Apparently Oregon residents Chad Sabel and Chris Schmidt are big fans of Cherry Pie and of 80s Rock in general. So much so that they were willing to drop some serious coin to have us play at their joint 40th birthday party in the very posh banquet hall of an upscale country club. The setting made for a bit of a sense of worlds colliding as we set up for the show. Quite predictably, this culture shock wore off as the night progressed. Drinks were consumed, shoes came off and some very well-dressed people starting acting like complete lunatics. Indeed 80s Rock has that great equalizing power to turn any situation into a party where anybody can feel like letting loose,... even a certain popular local news personality. Yeah, this was a bit of a different kind of gig for us, but it was a lot of fun and we appreciate the opportunity to do it. Happy birthday Chad and Chris! --Josh Were you at this show?
