A Word from Josh: Oh, what a difference eight years makes. We played in this beer garden located behind a small bar once before back in 2006. In both cases the show coincided with the adjacent "Lena Fall Festival" but that's pretty much where the similarities end. Back then the bar was called Mulligan's, the stage was an uncovered flat-bed truck and the crowd was intimate and polite (a nice way of saying small and lame). Tonight we played on a very nice stage, the place was packed and the people were having nothing but a good time. The evening started with a set from a young band out of Freeport, IL called Pure Inertia. They did a nice job covering some modern rock and playing several original songs. We took the stage as darkness fell and pumped out a pretty strong first set to a crowd that was growing by the minute. On the way to Lena we traveled through the part of the Wisconsin where John grew up and he had some old friends in the crowd. This, combined with the fun and hospitality of the event, put him in a particularly jovial mood and he entertained at the top of his game and did a great job of keeping the crowd involved. He went as far as to run out into the street that ran right along side of the stage and flagged down unsuspecting motorists. One particular fun moment occurred when he addressed a passing police car and was greeted by the rockin' devil-horns hand gesture extended out the car window. As often happens, our second set pushed the crowd's energy level through the roof. We were having all sorts of fun ranging from paying tribute to Survivor lead singer Jimi Jamison, who passed away earlier in the week, to rocking with guest singer Nicki Goodman on a couple of songs. We'd like to thank the event organizers for convincing us to come back. It was definitely way better the second time around. 'See you all again in another eight years!? --Josh Were you at this show?
