A Word from Josh: Ah, back at Rooters after five months away. It was pretty nice. Various promotions helped draw a pretty decent crowd. One of the gimmicks for the evening was what Frankie liked to call an "extra hairy" show, which simply meant playing a set list tilted more towards the true big-hair 80s bands and less towards the limp-hair 70s bands. Did it work? Well, it didn't suck, that's for sure. In fact, the crowd was particularly vocal all evening. The show went well, except for perhaps the most egregious mis-reading the set list faux pas of all time... John? John?... John? Well when John was on stage he was in the zone, as I think we all were. John took a couple moments to pay tribute to the US Marine Corps and all military veterans in honor of Veterans Day on Sunday. He even turned the occasion into a bit of a history lesson. Yes, we rock your asses AND educate you along the way; a true full-service band. Thanks to everybody who came out and made our return to Rooters so successful. Rock on!! -Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Bittersweeteus: "It's been awhile since I've been at Rooter's and when I walked into the bar, it was a welcoming sight. The bar had been redecorated with a rocking decor. It definitely represented the theme of the evening, the rocking sounds of CherryPie! Once they hit the stage, the dance floor filled up nicely. CherryPie gave us a performance that was down right off the wall crazy. The song set was well put together with great new songs added in that gave spice to the evening. And John, who is one hot rocking man and who also revealed one of his impressive characteristics, his knowledgeable intelligence, gave us one awe-inspiring performance. The show was fantastic and went along smoothly, despite a few blunders. And I was totally impressed with many a a activities from the time I walked in the front door to the end of the show! Plus let's not forget what this weekend was all about. As John so dearly and compassionately reminded us, it's Veteran's Day, a day that we honor those men and women that fought for our freedoms that we enjoy each and every day in this great country of ours." Tom: "A group of friends and I all went to see this show. After the last time we saw you guys at Rooters, I wasn't so sure...thought maybe you guys lost your edge"! Besides the last 3 songs (heavy not hairy) your show was I believe the best I have ever seen. This was at least my 12 show and beyond the "pyro" days, this really rocked! Can't wait to see a show like this again!!" Laurel: "Great show. Had a lot of fun. I'm glad Dann told us to come to the show." Michelle: "Had a great time, you guys rock! First time seeing you, thought you guys had a great sound. Look forward to seeing you guys play again!" |
