A Word from Josh: It seems odd to see the words "Shane Loy filling in on bass" in the gig information above, doesn't it? After all, Shane was not only our bass player for 12 years up until his departure four months ago, but he was also a huge part of the band's character during that time. None of us had seen him since New Year's Eve, and now here he is seemingly filling-in in his OWN band! It made for a very fun occasion. Although, it was not lost on us that this was perhaps not the best venue for such an exciting reunion. Green Bay is pretty far north of our usual territory and I know many people down in the Madison and Milwaukee areas lamented not being able to share in the experience. Likewise, most of the locals who did attend (and there were a lot) certainly didn't fully appreciate the uniqueness of the situation. They were too busy rocking out to The Pie because, amidst all the hullabaloo, we were able to put on a Hell-uva show and the packed house was digging it. This show was conceived as a "Beach Party" and Anduzzi's went all out by filling the bar with sand and having the waitresses wear skimpy bikini tops with tiny shorts. Yeah, that worked. So, will we play in Green Bay again? Probably, but only about as often as Shane returns to fill in. In either case, you're gonna want to be a part of it. -Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Bittersweeteus: "Here we are in Green Bay, WI. Home of Lambeau Field and most of all, the Green Bay Packers! Located on Holmgren Way, named after a popular Packer's coach, is a bar named Anduzzi's. As you enter, you are surrounded by the makings of a beach and the explosive sounds of CherryPie. CherryPie is located in a small area of the bar where they can be seen and heard by everyone as they rock us like a strong, fierce hurricane. And John, who has the best sense of humor and whose attire accentuates his manly demeanor just like a mag wheel accentuates a sweet looking muscle car, created a whirlwind of fun and fiery rock that lasted throughout the night. It was well worth the drive to see these guys, which included Shane, whom came back for one night of fun, take control of the night and give us a show that can only be described as, and well fitting for the area, a well played out game that ended with a fabulous touchdown and the lambeau leap." fans of the band: "Was nice to see Shane again and have the chance to talk to him. What a long assed ride! Can't say that we liked the bar very well, not set up for a kick-assed rock band like "Cherry Pie" to play in. Still was fun though. Looking forward to the out-side shows." |
