A Word from Josh: This will certainly be one of the most talked-about shows in the history of Cherry Pie. I'm not sure anything I write in this space can do it justice. New Year's Eve is always a big deal. The fact that it was back at the Badger Bowl for the first time since 2001 due to the unfortunate demise of the Dry Bean Saloon was an interesting storyline in itself. But of course the biggest headline was that this was Shane's last show with the band and the celebratory tribute aspect of the night was epic. The family, the friends, the food (Jaz's cookies were amazing), the signs, the gifts, the slideshow, the toasts and the sheer outpouring of affection can only lead to one conclusion... that Shane actually IS the Rock Star that he's been acting like for the last 12 years! With that kind of electricity in the room, we couldn't help but have a great show. The crowd was spectacular. After all these years, I think Madison still has a crush on us. The New Year is off to a great start. Of course Cherry Pie will continue in 2012 with a slightly different recipe but the song remains the same. Change is a part of life, neither inherently good nor bad, it's just... change. Cherry Pie has been bringing the Rock for 12 years and lucky 13 will be no different, I guarantee it. So come on back and smell what The Pie is cooking for 2012! --Josh TRIBUTE TO SHANE Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Debra: "Had a great time! Happy New Year Cherry Pie!" Zac: "great show I love seeing you guys and it was the last time I will see Shane good luck!" Bittersweeteus: "It's time for out with the old and in with the new. And what better way to ride this transition is with CherryPie. Saturday night they put on one high-octane show. It was full of energy and reverberating sounds. And John, who has the best mixture of hard-ass, sense of humor, compassion, and a touch of being sentimental, made the show quite entertaining and kept things rolling down the tracks smoothly. All in all, it was a fantastic show. And as we enter the new year, we all will be faced with new challenges and changes which, hopefully, will make us all stronger for it. As for CherryPie, the leaving of Shane as he faces a new chapter in his life, will change the band, but, it won't change the awesome sounds and entertainment that they provide for us each and every show. Plus, here's to the Packers making it to the playoffs!! May they kick ass all the way to the Superbowl!!" Long long time fans: "Had a blast! Would like to wish Shane the best of luck. Very nice tribute to him on your web-site. Will be back for more of the Pie without a doubt. Thanks Shane for the memories for these past 12 years. Was a memoriable night." |
