A Word from Josh: What a week. This was our fifth show in nine days representing a great cross-section of summer fun in Wisconsin. The Oakfield Corn Roast is yet another beautiful slice of Midwest Americana, featuring fishing contests, bingo, kids activities, a variety of music, food and beer. We remember playing here last year when we had to deal with some dust storms during the show. This time the dust was kept in check by rain early in the day which gave way to a beautiful clear night. In an atypical wardrobe decision, John spent the entire evening wearing an Ahman Green jersey in honor of the valuable Packers' running back having recently announced his retirement. The show went pretty smoothly and we enjoyed the enthusiasm of a mixed crowd of rural folks and city-slickers, all with a shared fondness for live rock n'roll. --Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Tim: "Was not expecting Bulls on Parade as a closer....IT WAS AWESOME!" Kayci: "I had an amazing time at the show. Looking forward to more! It was my first time seeing you play, and I loved it. That's all there is to say." Scoobyduu: "What can you say about a band that takes on a gig at a place called O.C.C.I. ? All I know is that it doesn't matter if it's Summerfest or State Fair, or any other venue.... when the guys show up....well... lets just say "show on"! John...no more football please. u guys rock.... ps... per your profile...there will be "more" pizza after next years show. TFD" Bittersweeteus: "Hot summer nights, cool wind in my face, and the sights and sounds of CherryPie. Now that's what I call sheer enjoyment! They put on two different shows on two different nights, back to back. Each one was unique in their own way. The first one was wild and a crazy train kind of a ride. It had fireworks between sets to celebrate the evening, but what intrigued me the most wasn't the fireworks, but the moon in it's splendor in the evening sky. The second show wasn't as crazy, but it still possessed that rock'n'roll style that only CherryPie knows how to put out there. CherryPie's performance on both nights was strong and full of energy. And John, who at times can be full of life and other times mellow with a little fun mixed in, worked the crowd and put on a very professional and hard rocking show of shows. Both shows were awesome and a great time had by all, whether it be a lot of patrons or a few." |
