A Word from Josh: Usually, having to share the stage with another band is a pain in the you-know-what. Bands playing before us tend to create logistical problems and opening for bigger bands often means being treated like dirt. Tonight there was a local band 6 Figures scheduled to play before us and the legendary Tubes following us. Such a combination had us worried that we'd be the creamy filling in a shit-sandwich. As it turns out, nothing could have been further from the truth. This show was an absolute pleasure to play. The staff and crew on hand from the Leach Amphitheater and Lighthouse Productions were amazing and gave us every opportunity to do what we do without any hassles. Loading in, pre-setup, change-over, dressing room, food, drink, it was all great and we really appreciate the respect we received from everybody involved. As such, it was relatively easy to put on a good show which is exactly what we did IMHO. The Leach Amphitheater is a beautiful newer facility and the growing crowd was a joy to play for. It was especially rewarding to see so many Cherry Pie T-shirts of various vintages in the crowd considering we were not the headliners. Speaking of the headliners, the night concluded with a stellar set from The Tubes. Certainly they're getting up in age (aren't we all?) but I must say that they really brought it. Frontman Fee Waybill hasn't lost a step and did many costume changes during their two-hour show. Some of their act seemed a bit "too weird" for some in the crowd but I was really digging it. They rocked their ground-breaking classics such as "Telecide" and "White Punks on Dope" and also included some twists on cover songs such as "I Saw Her Standing There" and "Lust for Life." Not surprisingly they saved their two radio-friendly hit singles "She's a Beauty" and "Talk to You Later" for the encore which brought the evening to a majestic close. Playing here was a wonderful experience for us and we hope to be involved with this concert series again in the future.     --Josh VOICES FROM THE CROWD: Were you at this show? (Sorry Tubes, but you could have cut an hour out of your set and let us have some more Pie!)" So happy you finally got a spot at Waterfest. You deserve a BIG stage like that and come back next year PLEASE!"
