A Word from Frankie: Holy cow, holy crowd! This was our 5th year rocking Verona Hometown Days and every year I leave with a grin from ear to ear. We were all chatterboxes afterwards recapping what an awesome time this very night was. I was a little worried going in, it was chilly out and felt like a late fall night. Not exactly summer weather. I made a promise on our Facebook page that if you guys showed up, we would definitely bring the heat. It happened! We, or should I say you crazy kids, broke last year’s attendance record. Like ants to sugar, it was people as far as the eye could see. I honestly felt like I was in Motley Crue or Poison last night. The energy and cheer we received from our family, friends, & fans fueled us to exceed our own high expectations. We only have you to thank for that! So THANKS peeps! It’s hard to not have a good time when you have a band, beer, tons of food options, and rides! Tonight there was a bunch of stuff going on that gave great cause for excitement and celebration. Our very own Mr. Dave Z (lead guitar & head of the trailer pulling committee) was celebrating his forty something birthday. Happy Birthday Dave, hope it was one to remember! One of our long time Pie goers Ed asked at set break if he could come on stage and pop the big question to his lady Rebecca. Drum roll… she said yes, and the crowd even gave a big hell yes! Fun times I tell ya. We always like bringing new stuff to the CP show… keeps things exciting for us and hopefully for you guys. Tonight we unveiled our 2011 summer concert t-shirts… the red, white, and black as I kept saying.. Red tank tops for the ladies, and white and black shirts for the guys. You can pick one up at any show, and they will soon be available here at cherrypie.org. I, Mr. Frankie Trash, debuted my brand new 36" kick drum. It’s big and powerful, just like me! HA! Have to give a big shout out and thanks to everyone involved in making Verona Hometown Days happen. They do a great job putting on this event, and we very much appreciate being a part of it. Not much left to say other than see ya next time! --The Trash Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Bittersweeteus: ""Up All Night, Sleep All Day", and rock till you can't rock no more! CherryPie put on a show that was a tornadic whirlwind that turned the fans into crazed and frenzied rocking animals. And John, who is one wild and headstrong rocking man, utilizes the whole stage as he put on a performance that was downright off the wall and full of hurricane strength. I had an awesome time with friends and dancing and singing to the music of CherryPie." Sandie: "Absolutely Fun!" Brian: "Had a great time, looking forward to Aug. 12th here in Belleville, also Aug. 6th in New Glarus." pie fans: "Had an awesome time. Love these outside shows. The band looked and sounded really good. What a fun time! See you soon!" |
