A Word from Josh: Ah, variety is the spice of life. As epic and familiar as last night's show was, tonight's was fresh and quaint. This is a classic small town event. It revolves around a fishing contest that had taken place earlier and a corn roast which is scheduled for noon on Sunday. Saturday night's main attraction? You got it... Cherry Pie! The show got off to a comical start when, as we started the second song, John pulled himself up on a thin canopy-support rod above the stage. The rod broke and John slammed down onto the stage flat on his back. He laughed it off saying that the impact seemed to cure the back pain he had been feeling since yesterday. Our man on the spot Kevin quickly did a makeshift repair on the rod using a drum stick and duct tape. We drew a nice sized crowd that was supportive but well-behaved. As the sun went down the wind picked up, occasionally blowing dust and sand across the stage. That was a bit annoying, but on the other hand our long hair looked great in the breeze. The potent combination of 80s rock and rural hospitality made for a very enjoyable evening. Event organizers have already talked to us about coming back next year. --Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Bittersweeteus: "What a quaint little festival located at the end of a small town. It wasn't much to speak of, but sometimes it's nice to be at a show where you're not being pushed, shoved, or beer spilled on you by a rude obnoxious fan. CherryPie put on a family friendly show. The music was a mixture of great songs that appeased to anyone. And John, who has a great masculine physique and looks to match, kept us all enthralled with his full of life antics and the way he sang each song with strength and ease. I had a great time and totally enjoyed the open atmosphere and to be surrounded by fans that enjoyed themselves." |
