A Word from Josh:
Well, this was different. We were hired directly by Bacardi to play at this event to launch their new "Torched Cherry" rum. They invited a lot of people in the tavern industry from around the area. It was open to the public but Bacardi asked us not to promote it for fear that too many people would take advantage of the free rum samples. So, very few of our friends even knew about it. The result was kind of bizarre. The Whiskey Bar is basically divided into two rooms. We played in the back room with the stage and dance floor for about a dozen friends and another 30 or so other attendees. The rest of the crowd (maybe about 100 highly primped and blinged-out young sophisticates) stayed in the front room where a DJ was blasting house music. I half expected the Miller delivery guy to burst in and declare, "You are most definitetly NOT livin' the High Life!" Being a Monday night the crowd thinned dramatically after midnight and we played our last few tunes to about 10 people. Such is the up and down life of a rock band. Still, this gig was fun in its own way and we'd like to thank the people that treated us great including Scott with the house sound system, Laurel and Patrick from the bar and Chris from Bacardi.     --Josh
