This was our last Milwaukee-area indoor gig of the season and, looking ahead, we realized that it also may have been our last gig played in a haze of cigarette smoke EVER. Wow, times have changed. I suppose some traditionalists might claim that good time rock n'roll was never meant to be played in clean air, but I welcome this change. Now if we could just do something about all that darned country music. But I digress. Rooters has been the site of some very special Cherry Pie shows including our recent Food-Drive Show and Anniversary Show. Well, tonight was just a normal show, but we figure that's still better than a stick in the eye, right? RIGHT!? I mean, if I'm lying I'm dying, eh? Well, we had a good crowd of high energy rockers on hand who wisely chose to leave their eye-poking sticks at home and come to the Pie show. For that we are grateful. After all, what is a Pie show without an audience? Just five sweaty guys in tight pants playing with massive amounts of amplification equipment. Yeah, we're glad you all showed up. 'See y'all in the great outdoors this Summer. Until then, smoke 'em if you got 'em! --Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Kris: "Great Show!" Dinyel: "Cherry Pie ROCKS!!!!!!!!!" Gabriela: "Had a great time. Thank you CP!" Bhupendra: "Lovely show, guys. Had a great time!!!" Jennifer: "Thanks guys for bringing my sister and her friends on stage for Talk Dirty to Me! She had a great birthday, due in large part to the great music supplied by an awesome band! Not our first show and most certainly not our last!" Cherry911: "It was my first show of yours but NOT my last that is for sure!! You guys ROCKED!!!!!!!!" Long time fan: "What a great night! Never disappoint." Bittersweeteus: "The show begins with a string of videos by various 80's rock bands. As the videos come to a climatic end, CherryPie kicks in and takes over. They are like modern day warriors on a mission to fight the battle of winning over the rambunctious fans. Their instruments are their weapons of choice. They play and control them with hearts of fire. And John, their fearless leader, takes the band to where no one else dares and together they take control of the fans and the night. These guys who have battle scars from past ventures, are like eagles in the sky who dare to fly where no one else will." Patty: " Came from Oshkosh just to see Cherry Pie - Grrrreat show - had a wonderful time - Rooters - nice place! :)" |
