A Word from Josh: Over the last year we've established something of a secret double life. Every few months or so we drive far far away from home and play a private gig for Aflac, yes the insurance company with that amusing spokes-duck. This was the third such excursion and this one took us to Omaha, Nebraska, a city that none of us had ever been to before. We arrived the night before and sought to get to know the town by seeking out some of its seedier drinking establishments. By stark contrast, the La Vista Conference Center where we were to perform was one of the nicest such facilities I have ever seen. In fact, it's so brand new that if you look for it on Google Maps you'll only see a field of dirt at its location. Aflac provided each of us with our own swanky hotel suite at the attached Embassy Suites, evidence that at least one company is surviving the recession rather nicely. This was also evident in the production of the event. The staging, complete with video screens and state-of-the-art light show was amazing. However, the sound system was a bit under-sized giving us a little less umph than what our Wisconsin fans are used to hearing. Fortunately, none of them were at this show so it didn't really matter. The Aflac folks loved us and really partied down all evening. They particularly liked it when three of their own led by VIP Mike Tomlinson joined us onstage, playing guitars and singing a few songs. Everybody blended in because everybody in the room was wearing 80s-themed costumes. As in our previous Aflac gigs, we were easily bribed into multiple encores. Throughout the entire experience we were treated like kings by the Aflac people as well as by the production crew and hotel staff. It was certainly enough to make us want to continue with our secret double life. --Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Nancy: "Best time I ever had at Constellation!
