A Word from Josh:
This was our first time playing at Harvest Fair. But we are hardly strangers to this stage, having played on it 18 times before, including three times earlier this year. It is also the only stage we've played on using five different drummers over the years. But Cherry Pie is more than just a collection of trivial statistics. We are also a rock band and I think that fact became obvious when we started playing loud rock music in front of a healthy gathering of enthusiastic fair goers. The show went well but we did have to deal with a major distraction. TVs throughout the pavilion displayed the Brewers/Cubs game taking place at nearby Miller Park. With only a couple games left in the season and a play-off spot on the line, much of the crowd were following the action on the screens very closely. Every time the Brewers did something good, we would hear a big cheer rising from the crowd. It was a surreal moment when the game ended with a Brewer victory. The resulting ovation came awkwardly during my keyboard intro to "Oh, Sherrie." But, hey, we didn't really mind. We like the Brewers too (well, most of us do). This was our last festival show of the year and, with Summer already officially over, we were very fortunate to encounter beautiful weather. So now it's time to put the kids back into storage and start enjoying the PIE the way God intended it... in smoke-filled bars! Bottoms Up!!!     --Josh

VOICES FROM THE CROWD:
Were you at this show?
Would you like to comment on it?

Jennie:
"First of all, thanks again for playing "We All Die Young". Been waiting for that a LONG time and it made my night. Had a blast hangin' with all my Pie friends. The Brewer game did make it also a magical nite. Can't make Rooters since I will be at the playoff game but I will be "Thinking of you" guys!"

Fan:
"Great show guys! Great set list Great weather. And admit the t.v.'s were an annoying distraction."

Bittersweeteus:
"I always enjoy watching people congregate before CherryPie hits the stage. The interesting things I see, could possible be put into storybook form. The intensity in the air somewhat builds as you hear the prelude song which gives you a indication of what you are about to see and hear. CherryPie kickstarts your heart with a jolt of hard rockn' songs that you can feel the hot blood pumping through your veins. And John, who has the right amount of charisma and perseverance, kept everyone, from the very young to the old, involved throughout the show. I was really impressed with some things I observed that night and I also enjoyed this show that took place on a cool, crisp, fall night."

Greg Godina:
"Are you telling me Cherry Pie was there? I did not know that. I thought I was at Miller Park for the Brewers game!"

Debbie & Gary:
"Sorry I have got behind on my journal entries, but you never forget a great time with the pie. It was a beautiful night and the place was packed. There was a lot of cheering going on, some for the pie and some for the brewers. I'm not for sure who got the most, but the Pie had a awsome show and everyone had a great time. But hate to see the outside shows gone for a while. Take care xoxoxo"
