A Word from Josh: I always tell people that Dry Bean crowds are crazier than most and tonight was no exception. Madison welcomed us back indoors with the love that we've become accustomed to around here, and yet it still feels like the first time. Yowza, what a great time. We provided the tunes and the crowd provided the rock'n'roll spirit. It was quite a good-looking bunch and we appreciated every bit of their intoxicating love of music. Hopefully, many of them will carry that love over to next Saturday when we'll be playing just up the road at the Badger Bowl. We promise a very different set list, but the same kick ass attitude. --Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Bottoms Up: "The night began quietly enough until...Greg Godina, unofficial-official Cherry Pie photographer decided he wanted to make a music video - "On the Way to Getting Pie-ed." So, I stow the car’s top in its handy-dandy convertible top stower place, he climbs onto the convertible top hider like a home coming queen and starts taking pictures in rapid succession. Well, I wasn’t going fast enuff to make a "motion" picture so he yells: "hey, go faster; I’m thinking’ "90 ain’t fast enuff? Ok mister, hold on." The little pointer starts to climb when all of a sudden...this big-a** bird, maybe a hawk or eagle, one of those endangered species, swoops down, catches Greg by the shoulders and lifts him off his perch while the "lovely Jeanine," his wife and unofficial-official merchandise hawker, dives for his legs. One arms wraps around Greg’s left leg and the other’s swinging Jack Daniels at the bird-not Greg, so I shout, Hey, "lovely Jeanine," don’t loose that Jack Daniels; there’s still some left." so she lets go of Greg. ...That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. Happy Birthday Greg. -me, me, me." Fan: "Great set list! loved it all thanks" Mary: "I love the ShaLo stance: legs as far apart as his bass is long. Some day you're gonna slip into the splits and ouch! Too cute - especially when he adds the grin whick is alos as wide as his bass is long." Mary: "You guys were great! A lot of energy yet there is a lot to be said about the shy quiet one - yum." i have a crush on your talent =>: "The guys were extremely friendly and energetic tonight with smiles all around, all the time. Johnny Spandex actually said hi which caught me off guard since he usually sets a track record running away from my grabbing hands. This caught me off guard to the point of dah, speechlessness. I couldn’t even return the greeting - boy he’s got beautiful blue eyes. I can see why girls swoon and pass out when he crones to them - or maybe it’s The Drink. Any way, thank you John and hello back. I have to wipe up my drool now...til next time." Bittersweeteus: "The Dry Bean sure did wear it's name well this night. I admit, there was a huge turnout, but where was the enthusiasm, the rowdiness, it sure wasn't found in this crowd. It had nothing to do with CherryPie because they played those instruments with so much vigor, it's a wonder they didn't burn them up. And John, with his unyielding bad-ass attitude, hard rockn' moves, and a body that just won't quit, tried his best to bring this crowd alive but it seemed that they were unwilling participants. It has to be frustrating at times to perform in front of a unwilling crowd, but just remember guys, you'll always be the great performers you are and to me, there isn't any other coverband out there that exceeds your reputation. You're one hard rocking, kick-ass, 80's rock coverband!" Greg Godina: "I want to say thanks to Cherry Pie for making this a memorable show for my birthday at The Dry Bean, even though I have never been there before. I like that place alot! Later, Greg Godina P.S. How about them Dallas Cowboys? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I know, I know, SHUT UP!!!!" |
