A Word from Josh: This is more like it. Tonight's show had all the good vibes that a good Cherry Pie should have. And, come to think of it, why shouldn't they ALL be good shows? Well, last Saturday's show at Our Lady of Lourdes wasn't very good because of heavy rains. But, as it turns out, that show took place only a few blocks away from tonight's show, so it's like we had a mulligan or something. And, I think we made the most of this second chance to rock this neighborhood. Like last year, the stage at Serbian Days was big and wide, but very low and unstable. Well, I suppose dealing with that just adds to the night's excitement. The tent was pretty packed throughout and the crowd's enthusiasm was infectious. John and Shane were both able to make a lot of good use of the drum riser and Dave's cabinets to stand on and look cool. I had a handful of friends who were seeing the band for the first time, so I was extra motivated to make a good impression. And Frankie was, well.... he was Frankie. All of these factors added up to a really strong show as far as I could tell. One special moment came during "Bed of Roses." John invited long-time fans Debbie and Gary up on stage for a special spotlight dance to commemorate their 22nd wedding anniversary. They are really cool people and the whole crowd shared in the wonderful moment. Hey, we hope your Summer has been as awesome as our's. It's almost over but we do have a couple more festival shows left. Next Friday we'll be playing the big pavillion at the Oak Creek Lion's Fest. Then, on the Saturday of the following week (September 8) we'll be playing a special show in a tent outside of the Coach House Grill in Big Bend to benefit the Bartolotta family. Many of you remember our original drummer Nick Bartolotta. He, along with another family member, was badly burned in a work accident last year. This will be our chance to help him out along with the Cherry Pie nation. 'Hope to see you all there. --Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Bittersweeteus: "When you hear the prelude to the first set, you sort of get a "Wicked Sensation" as you anticipate the appearance of CherryPie on stage. They open up with one hell of a song and their performance throughout the night is more then you can handle, but you still yearn for more. And John, who is quick-witted and robust, keeps everyone's attention with the way he moves across the stage and at the same time, is very sportive. I don't know what it is, but these guys are getting more and more enjoyable to watch. You guys sure do show that your business of rock is getting bigger and bigger!!" June: "You Guys Rock!!!!!!!!!!!!" Tina: "Your show f***ing rocked!!! I cant wait to see you at oak creek lion's fest!!! THANKS FOR ALWAYS A ROCKING KICK ASS NITE!!!!!" Debbie and Gary: "We would like to say thank you again for making our special day and extra special day. That so nice of you to do that for us. We had a wonderful 22nd annversary and spent it with wonderful friends (you guys). It was a awsome show. Like always we enjoyed rocking out with you. Really enjoyed the new songs that you are playing now, but still enjoy that old ones too. No matter what you guys always rock. Take care and have a great week. See you in Oak Creek." Christina: "The tamborines gave me a bruise on my thigh the shape of Texas...hahahahaha See ya guys at Lions Fest with a few different friends to check ya out!" Rocka: "It was awesome, that's all I gotta say, most fun I've had all night. I'll be at Lion's Fest as well, you promised you'd look out for me. ;)" gregory: "You rocked so hard it nearly blew off the hat I had on and the hair attatched to it. Fu%^ing awesome." Zeljan: "First time I saw you guys, and it was awesome. That was one hell of a show guys, the songs you played rocked out loud, my neck, head, feet, and legs were all sore the next day, but god it was worth it. Awesome, just awesome." Kat&Pat: "What says summer more then Cherry Pie in a Beer Tent??? no matter how many shows we miss, as soon as we approach the stage we get that "ahhh at home feeling"!!!! It was a blast watching Pat make John crack-up and do his old NO routine with Paul, was great to see the Jodster, Tammy, Greg and Jeanine!! Shane, Jody and John thanx for being so cool to our friends they really thought you were too cool and hope to attend many more shows! Luv ya guys~" |
