A Word from Josh: Us rock'n'roll musicians tend to be a nocturnal bunch. That was never more evident than at this show where the show didn't really start cooking until the sun went down. The first set was bathed in early-evening sunlight beaming through the open west end of the pavilion. I think we played pretty well, but our demeanor was like that of a skittish vampire. Hundreds of people were already on hand to check out the show and they responded to us with "polite enthusiasm." Then came the break and everything changed. The sun disappeared and the stage lights took effect. Many more people arrived and packed in against the stage. We began the second set smelling blood in the water. It was great. For the rest of the night we rocked out with a great crowd which included many young children, obnoxious drunks and everything in between. Over the last couple of years, the whole "Wednesday Night Live" idea has really worked out well, week after week, bringing thousands of people from the surrounding neighborhoods for a free weekday evening of fun, food, beer and music. For the second straight year we are very glad to have been able to participate in this premier concert event. --Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Mel: "Hot show! It's not the humidity - it's Cherry Pie." Kerri: "You rock my socks off. Great concert, boys!" Dawn: "Great show" Bittersweeteus: "It's something to be at the state fair without all the noise that goes on from the crowds of people, rides, and different bands performing. But this silence only enhances the sound that comes from CherryPie. When these guys start to perform, they ignite one hell of a thundering deluge of hard-rockn' songs. And John, who is very obstinate, aggressive, and has the prowlness of a panther, kept everyone intrigued to the point where they couldn't get enough of what CherryPie had to offer. Due to the great time that everyone seemed to have, the night went way too fast." Erock: "I was there and I brought some friends that have not seen the band play and they loved the show. They are now hooked on Cherry Pie! As always you guys rocked!" |
