| A Word from Josh: "It was such a beautiful day, we were wondering if anybody was going to show up," John told a very crowded Badger Bowl. Indeed it was another great show in the room that we've played in more than any other. The hot sweaty night was filled with memorable moments including two sizzling guest vocal performances from Katie of Poor Rich Kids and Buzz of LUBE. (By the way, Poor Rich Kids will be playing with us at the Kastle Kampground on June 10.) John pointed out that there seemed to be an unusual amount of people in the crowd who were seeing us for the first time. "Are you diggin' it?" John asked the newbies. We appreciated the subsequent roar of approval, but that didn't stop John from asking his standard follow-up question, "Where the Hell have you been for the last five years?!" Amidst all the merry-making and rock n'roll was one somber moment. Several friends of fallen US soldier Mark Maida were on hand commemorating the one year anniversary of his death in Iraq. John made a very touching and heart-felt dedication to him and paid a Memorial Day tribute to all people who have made the ultimate sacrifice for this country. I must say that is was one of John's finest moments with the mic. Toward the end of the show the crowd in front of the stage was getting more dominated by metal heads who wanted to hear some heavier stuff. We were able to offer up our usual selections by Iron Maiden and Ozzy Osbourne. But then we went above and beyond for the encore by playing a Metallica song that we had not rehearsed. It was a pretty spontaneous thing. We were definitely living on the edge with that one, but it turned out pretty good and the crowd loved it. Tomorrow is the start of our outdoor season and it looks like we won't be playing the Madison area again until the Fall. But, as in Summers past, I'm sure we'll see a bunch of you on road trips. ROCKIN REED: "The paper said The JC Band was playing at the Badger Bowl but after one note you knew the "Masters of 80's Rock" were on. It was a steam bath inside but all the sweat was worth it to a night of headbangin. This show was the debut of the "Ryeman" who insists he will return for more. Also some of those Bad Ass CPTers were in the crowd. Just another great performance from the band that keeps the 80's alive. Thanks CP!!!!!!!!!!!" Bittersweeteus: "I am looking forward to the outside shows after spending a few hours in one of the most sweltering bars you could be in. But after seeing the spectacular show CherryPie put on where they displayed their gifts of playing instruments and using their vocals, you tend to forget the hot and humid air and drift into a 80's fantasy world. John who has a aggressive attitude, showed his compassionate side when it came to explaining the real meaning of Memorial Day. It was a fantastic show and a great way to end the season of indoor venues." conni and tom: "e. Totally enjoyed the show-need to book more places closer to the area.
