A Word from Josh: This show took place on a Friday the 13th AND under a full moon. So, how would this confluence of evil manifest itself? Fortunately, it did not have a negative impact on our equipment or our performance. But it did seem to affect a few people in the crowd. Security reported more fights during the course of the evening than on any other single night in the history of the Badger Bowl. One such melee occurred in the middle of the dance floor as we finished playing "Home Sweet Home". John did a good job of publicly ridiculing the guilty parties as they were subdued and led away. Fortunately, such behavior did not seem to have a negative impact on the rest of the crowd that filled the room's every nook and cranny. Indeed, in what seemed a repeat of our last show here, the place was packed and, as a result, the temperature rose to uncomfortable levels, especially on the stage under the lights. But, of course, we were as undeterred as everybody else who came out to have a good time with their favorite 80s music. Speaking of which, we did something a bit unusual when we played most of Journey's "Don't Stop Believing" by request. Actually, I was just goofing around when I started playing it. But the crowd responded so strongly and sang along with it so loudly that the rest of the band soon joined in and it just kept on going. "We've never played that song before," explained John to the appreciative audience. "But it's definitely going into the rotation!" --Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Juli Reff: "What a GREAT show! You guys are awesome!" ROCKIN REED: "Once again Cherry Pie gives an All Star performance. The Badger Bowl was rockin like it was 1999. Great show to kick off 06 in Madison. This will be the year of the PIE. Keep up the great work and thanks for keeping the 80's alive." Mar: "Never been to a PIE show... I want another piece... You guys SOO rock!!! Will see you guys again... Peace!!!" Bittersweeteus: "Admidst the brawls brought about clashing egos and air that was so full of moisture, you'll find the hard rockn' coverband, CherryPie. The guys know how to bring the animal out of the fans like no one else can. By using their awestruck performance. John was able to keep the fans the majority of the night focused on the band and to the music. All in all, it was a great night despite a few bad distractions." |
