| A Word from Josh: Before the show we dealt with the headaches that come with playing a nightclub that also likes to think of itself as a nice restaurant. But once the show started the headaches melted away into a great night in front of a great crowd. I don't know what the official capacity of the Dry Bean Saloon is, but I think it's fair to assume that they exceeded it by a large margin. When the show started the dance floor was packed, not necessarily because those people wanted to dance, but because there was no other place to stand. You know, the stage at the Dry Bean sucks, but the crowds are always amazing. A lot like the nearby Badger Bowl, but even a bit more crazy for some reason. One of the fine ladies whooping it up front and center all night was none other than Dia from the band SuperTuesday. She wasn't the only hottie melting our fillings as the temperatures dropped below zero outside. I swear, this was one of those crowds that really makes you glad that you learned to play a musical instrument (or two). During the show John made mention of the fact that this was our last Madison show in 2005 and wished everybody a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. He also paid tribute to John Morgan of the US Army who had just returned from a year-long deployment to Iraq. He joined us on stage where he thanked everybody for their support of the troops. "We're doing a lot of good work over there, and we couldn't do it without you," he told the appreciative crowd. Maybe it was because of the cold temperatures outside, but toward the end of the night the crowd showed little signs of thinning. We played a double encore to a room that looked like it was ready to rock for several more hours. But, alas, all good things do come to an end. Thank you Madison for yet another memorable night. --Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? KC: "It's the first time I've seen you. I met some of you while you were walking through the crowd and let me tell you that you guys are pure rockers! I had a blast and will definately make the 4-hour drive to see you again. Rock on!" ROCKIN REED: "The bean was a Rockin Saturday Night. It may of been cold outside but there was Hot Cherry Pie inside. The boys from MPLS( Pistol,KC) made there Christmas roadtrip just for the PIE!! Never a dull moment when the Pistol shows off the Pythons!!! Merry Christmas and keep Rockin into 06 and beyond. (Update 12/24) Its been a week and I still have a Rock N Roll Hangover from the CP. That road trip to Rooters just might be the cure. Need to hear more Firehouse, and Slaughter. Keep Rockin!!!" Rolf: "What I go through to get to a Cherry Pie show! A delayed flight out of Denver, and lost luggage to boot but all well worth the trip. It's funny how my trips home always seem to be during one of your Madison shows. Coincidence? I think not. Rock on fellas and Happy Holidays!" Mardi: "What is it about you guys that brings out all of the fabulous men?!" Bittersweeteus: "It's always great to see two CherryPie shows back to back because you don't have a chance to come down from the rock'n'roll high they give you until after the last show. The show at Coconut Joe's was just a prelude to the one at Dry Bean. You can call it a night of practicing if you will. As for the Dry Bean, now that was a night of partying and not to mention, getting a head-rush from the adrenaline the guys were pouring out to the crowd with their performance. John, with his captivating looks and tenacious demeanor, had everyone rockn' til the end of the show. I had so much fun and was greatly disappointed when it was time for everyone to go their seperate ways. So in closing, I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!! May the new year fulfill your every wish and desire!!" |
