A Word from Josh: As she sometimes does, Mother Nature chose this night to suggest that we all stay home for the evening. She did this with a series of thunderstorms which put Waukesha County under a flash flood warning. But, once again, we ignored her suggestion and so did about 300 nice people who came out to rock with The Pie. One person who did stay home was our regular sound tech Mark who was quite ill. So we put the huge responsibility of mixing our sound in the capable hands of the Kelly's house tech Trevor who did a fine job. He likes to rattle everybody's bones with a big sound and a lot of low end. In fact, during the bridge of "Kickstart My Heart" the bass pedal parts I played caused a bunch of dust and who-knows-what-else to come sprinkling down out of the ceiling. That's powerful stuff. Compared to last night's crowded heat fest, tonight's show featured considerably more oxygen which kept things a bit more down to earth, at least early on. But the atmosphere did gradually get pretty crazy. There were a lot of interesting characters in the crowd and we fed off of that and got pretty silly towards the end. With heavy rains coming down outside we were rockin' like a hurricane inside. We really appreciate everybody who braved the storm to come rock with us. --Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Jewelz: "Well the rain did keep some away, but not all. Alot of the gang braved the storms and came out (Poision, Dawn, Dick, Greg & Jeannie, Jen, Julie, Some of the Pegasus boys, Dave & George, and of course my sexxy dance partner was there too!) to enjoy the evening. Yes I was still suppose to be home resting (as My Mother Dawn reminded me often), but I antsy to get out so I came to join in the fun. While I agree it is nice to have a big crowd, now and then it is nice to be able to dance and have room to move. As always the boys did a wonderful job and sounded terrific even if it was a bit LOUD!" susie: "Your show was just awesome!! It was the first time I saw you guys and I cant wait till the next time! You all rocked the stage with your performances!! Im excited to see the pictures from that show! Do you have any??" Bittersweeteus: "After driving for an hour or so in heavy rain, Kelly's was a welcome sight. Inside, the CP guys were practicing songs that can only kick-start the heart. The people were trickling in to participate in the performance of a great 80's rock coverband, CherryPie. Once the CP guys did start to perform, they proved that they can put everyone in a rockn' partying mood. John, looking great in his attitude riddin Slayer shirt and black leather pants, took control of the crowd with his aggressive and steadfast demeanor. This was definitely a great show of talented guys that no other rock coverband can surpass." Jeanine & Greg: "Cherry Pie always rocks the house! We had a wonderful time as usual. We enjoyed seeing our friends and enjoyed being with everyone. You guys are always rocking hard!" |
