| A Word from Josh: This was one of those small time festivals which involved a few trade-offs. A couple of obvious drawbacks included a lack of a dressing room and insufficient clearance for the light show at the back of the stage. In addition, we were very dismayed to find out that the tent we were playing in was 21+, with no reasonable vantage points for underage fans. We did not know this coming in and a few people ended up being very disappointed. In my opinion, it's just not a "fest" if you're going to enforce nightclub age restrictions. Anyway, as for the good stuff, the staff was very hospitable and supportive. So much so that Shane wore one of the festival's bright orange T-shirts for much of the second set. The crowd was really great. The tent didn't get really packed until near the end of the first set, but regardless, they always rocked and were quite loud when called on to sing or scream. The weather was picture perfect and the atmosphere on stage was ripe for many light-hearted moments. Among the familiar faces in the crowd were some friends who we don't see very often since we stopped playing this part of the state on a regular basis. Lotsa hugs all'round. --Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Shef: "Great show as always from the "CP" guys. Really got the crowd going in set 2 with "We're not gonna take it" getting everyone into it and then following that by having the crowd sing to them in "Wanted : Dead or Alive". Outstanding idea, worked great. Haven't seen the guys much since they don't come to this area often anymore but was great to talk to Josh, and DD and I got meet and talk to John's wife, Maria, for most of the break. Hope the guys can squeeze in a show or 2 more often in our neck of the State. ROCK ON----------Shef and DeeDee" Brenda: "I thought you guys rocked the house. Would really appreciate it if you could make it up to this area more often. I would think you could create quite a following,again, with your 80's cover hits list. Since it now again seems to be cool to like the 80's music" Donavan and Becky: "Hey guys! Sorry we got there late, but we made it! You guys were cool as always! Thanks again for a rockin' good show. See you all soon!! P.S. Where is "The Trooper"?????" Bittersweeteus: "When I think of a fest, I picture a somewhat big event, but, to me, this was a small town gathering. As you enter the beer tent, there weren't that many people waiting for the appearance of CherryPie. Once the CP guys arrived on stage and their adrenaline and top of the line professionalism started pouring in and coming out through their performance, the crowd began to grow. John, who has a great take-charge attitude and knows how to use his masculine wiles, was able to bring the crowd closer to the stage and keep them rockn' hard through the night. The show was great and as always these guys prove they are number one when it comes to cover bands and the fun never stops as long as they are around." |
