A Word from Josh:
I got to the Waukesha County Fair a bit early, so I had the chance to stroll around and see what all it had to offer. Sure enough, they seemed to have everything that a midwestern county fair should have such as a horse show, funnel cakes, cows, rides, corn dogs, and pig races. I stopped at the other music tent to catch a couple of songs from Marshall Law. The fair also had a weight/age guessing booth. When I passed by, the weight-guesser on duty was a girl who looked to be about 11 years old. We chatted briefly and I learned that she has not seen the movie "The Jerk" starring Steve Martin. Now, it's been said that "Pretty Woman" is the "Rocky" for prostitutes. Well, I believe that "The Jerk" is the "Rocky" for weight-guessers. Anyway, I finally made my way back to the big beer tent as showtime drew near. The band Close Enuf played a couple of sets of hits from the 60s and 70s before it was our turn to rock. This was the same stage where we had one of our most memorable shows ever back on July 19, 2003. We knew not to expect quite the same magic on a Thursday night, but it was still a pretty good time. After a bit of a late start the show went pretty smoothly. The crowd was enthusiastic and loud. Right up by the stage the entire evening was that guy we've seen before who does the Cornholio thing with the shirt over his head. Yeah, that was a bit odd. Lots of kids were on hand to learn about what kinds of things their parents do for fun when they go out. One special thing about tonight was the return of two familiar faces, Nadine and Michelle, each of whom had not been to a Cherry Pie show in quite some time. I hope that they both can start fitting us in their busy schedules more often. The end of the show came a bit abruptly. I'm not sure what exactly happened, but apparently we were asked by the powers that be to finish up sooner than we expected. We were also not allowed to do an encore which left many the crowd chanting for our return for quite a while. I've said it before, but I think there's something to be said for leaving them wanting more.    --Josh

VOICES FROM THE CROWD:
Were you at this show?
Would you like to comment on it?

Scott:
"This was my first time at a Cherry Pie show, and we just walked by during a killer song by the Crue, so we ended up staying, and now we're hooked! see you in okauchee and the state fair!"

Brandi:
"Great show as always! First time I was able to bring my kids and they had a blast! They were both so excited about the guitar pics from Shane and they thought it was pretty cool that they got all of your autographs. Maybe next time they come they will get to hear you play You Give Love A Bad Name (or shot through the heart as my son calls it) Keep on Rockin!"

Jewelz:
"Well its been a few weeks since I've been to a show...so I dragged out some friends who lived near waukesha county fair with me...although their was motive behind that for me as I didnt have to pay to park ;) Prior to the show I received a phone call from a long lost dance partner of mine...I was so excited to hear that she was coming to the show...it has been ages since Michele, Jody, and I have danced in the front row of a CP show together! Oh yah and this was the 1st time she has heard CP play Monkey Business!! Also amongst the gang was Poison, Jas, Greg & Jeannie, Dave & Wendy but No Pegasus :( Well even thou it was a small crowd and it rained earlier in the evening, it turned out to be a rockin show! Oh yah and they even had monster truck rides!"

Bittersweeteus:
"These guys are always guaranteed to give a great show and have one fun-filled time. They play as if they are taking you back to those street of dreams when everything wasn't as crazy ai it is now. John, can sing those songs of yesterday, using his fine-tuned voice and impressive disposition. One thing that never fails with these guys, it's that they leave you wanting to go back when rock was something to turn to when your life was a disarray."

Mel:
"Josh, you always leave me wanting more."

Debbie & Gary:
"What can i say, it was a wonderful show. Keep on Rocking. Have a Great summer. See ya at State Fair."
