A Word from Josh: Another spectacular show in front of an absolutely amazing audience. That makes three in a row. We're knocking on a lot of wood these days. I have to say right off the bat that, although this crowd might have been a bit smaller than at our open air shows the last couple of weeks, they were definitely the LOUDEST. I don't know if the acoustics of the tent had anything to do with it, but the cheering and singing along was as loud as I've ever heard at any show. It was absolutely electrifying. Late in the night Johnny even said "You guys are singing so loud, I can't even hear the rest of the band, which is fine because I'd rather listen to you than these yahoos." The large tent was packed with all sorts of rockin' party animals and gorgeous women, not the best environment for kids, yet there were several young'uns in attendance including Cherry Pie "Regular" Maribeth's 8-year-old daughter Kiersten. Wearing a Cherry Pie T-shirt, Kiersten joined us on stage during "Pour Some Sugar on Me". She was reluctant at first, staring out at the huge crowd, but then she got into the spirit and started dancing. It was really cute amongst all the mayhem. The whole night really came together for us. The weather was perfect and Alice Cooper played a set on the other side of the Fairgrounds as we were getting underway, so a lot of people came over from that ready to party some more. Plus, the Waukesha County Fair is just simply a kick-ass fair all the way around with many great attractions. We are very happy that they invited us to participate this year. After the show, the entire band went over to Dave's house to relax with some food and drink. It is very rare that all five of us get together socially like this and this was the first such get-together since Rico joined the band so it was actually pretty special. Next week, the party moves back indoors for one night as we head down to Kelly's Bleachers II, a large bar just south of Milwaukee that has always been very good to us. Hopefully we'll be able to fill it with the same kind of energy that we saw tonight. - Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Lonnie&Christ: "Well dudes another butt kicking performance! Just when you think it couldnt get any better, you guys pull off another one.And just want to say RICO even with youre past injuries you did an awesome job, youre a team player giving youre all!" Teri: "The energy for the show was so high! Cherry Pie is by far the best! Also Shane lick'in the G'pick and putt'in on me leaves me wanting more more more! love you pie's till next time!" Rachel: "My good friend and I went last night to see you guys. We are regulars that go to Rooters and haven't seen you guys since. I will tell ya, we were right up front and you guys kicked a lot of ass. Put it this way, we saw the Sweet Tarts Thursday, and you beat the crowd all the way. Not that it's competition, but you had a lot of energy!! Good luck to you all!!! By the way, is Shane or the Keyboardist single :) LOL" Maribeth and Kierstin: "Thanks for another great show. We had a rockin good time last night in between the rides. Kierstin had her fist in the air for a few of the songs. I think her favorite part is playing with the confetti:) though. Hugs to all." Bittersweeteus: "With John lighting everybody on fire, it turned out to be a command performance! My fire started out slowly, but it took one special hot spark to put me totally ablaze!! The crowd was pumped to a full frenzy and didn't want the band to stop. They felt the way I always do, just can't get enough!! Fantastic show, John and the guys. Can't wait to see you again." Pamela: "I have seen Cherry Pie many times and this show was the absolute best! The enthusiasm and energy displayed by all of you was incredible. Your devotion to your music and your fans is ever so evident in your stage presence. I had the best time! And thanks so much Josh for "Ah Leah"! My all-time favorite song you perform! Even though you weren't feeling the greatest your voice was awesome as usual! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" Dana: "My first experience with the band. It was great. Great song selection. The crowd was so into it.Everyone was singing so loud. Very wild and crazy. I will be looking forward to attending another one and many more to come." Jessy: "I do have to say this was one of the best shows that I have attended in all the years I have been comming... It was also my first time to a show with Rico on the Drums. I was very impressed. Look forward to seeing you guys again real soon" Laura & Rick: "Rick & I saw the band for the first time at Waukesha County Fair. We think they are the greatest 80's band out there. We sang all the songs out loud with the band. The crowds they draw are just awsome and everyone has a wild time. The song selection is great. Keep up the great stuff guy's. See you soon!!!" |
