A Word from Josh:
This was our first time at Big E's Beach Club. It is a unique venue nestled in a pleasant setting along the Rock River near Lake Koshkonong. The ugly exterior of the building is a sharp contrast to the picturesque surroundings. Technically it is located in the town of Newville but they list their address as being in Edgerton. Traditionally they also rely on residents from nearby Janesville for a lot of their business. The interior features a maze of bars, hallways, stages and seating areas. We played on the deep but narrow main stage in the big center room (the other two stages were not used this night). This was the setting as we put on our show and had fun with a healthy gathering of friends, many of whom were there to celebrate our beloved Kat's birthday. It sure was a good thing that so many fans traveled from Madison and the Milwaukee area to see the show, because otherwise we would have been quite lonely. Indeed, the modest crowd of only a few dozen was made up almost entirely of familiar faces. A stunning disappointment considering the extensive advertising that the club had done for this show. But it apparently failed to capture the imagination of the Janesville/Edgerton area residents. I think this is somewhat baffling, but I am still convinced that very "blue collar" Janesville is a Pie kind of town having played there many times with other bands in years past. The show went pretty well although we did face a series of technical problems in the second set beginning with Shane's bass wireless. Shortly after that was fixed Rico experienced a problem with one of his hi-hats. The trend continued a short time later when I had trouble dealing with my guitars in the cramped back corner of the stage. I accidentally knocked all three of them over two different times resulting in a broken string on my red Kramer and a very out-of-tune acoustic guitar when we played "Heaven". But, that was late in the night and nothing tunes a guitar quite as nicely as a good buzz. The show ended with a fun bit of spontaneity. Dave and I returned to the stage for our encore with a guitar duel as we often do. After we had gone back and forth a couple of times Shane decided to get in on the act... on DRUMS! Rico was sitting at the kit when Shane came up behind him and reached around him to play some pulsing beats. Rico joined in and together they played a percussion solo that was quite reminiscent of "Stomp". Good goofy fun. Well, with the poor turnout I doubt that Big E's will be inviting us back right away, but we will have a good opportunity to showcase ourselves in Edgerton again on July 15 when we play at their Tobacco Heritage Days festival. We'll see if anybody decides to come out and see that one.     --Josh

VOICES FROM THE CROWD:
Were you at this show?
Would you like to comment on it?

Jewelz:
"Well it was a good thing it was Kat's bday & that a bunch of us came out to celebrate with her...cuz it was pretty much 1/2 the crowd! But 1 good thing was that we surely didn't have to fight over the front row...althou Vince insisted on being infront of Johnny...so us girls let him since he was the only Pegasus boy who came out to rock with us...(something about the rest of them were busy...toooo busy to rock???) it was the least we could do! As always it was a good time dancing the night away with the gang (Kat, Poison, My sexxy dance partner, Jas, Michelle, Jen, Vince, Greg & Jeannie, & the "other" Tammy) Thanx Jas for the yummy cookies & to Kat & Michelle for the food run! Oh yah & my favorite song even made the set list :) Great night, Awesome Friends, and CP rocked the house!!!"

KAT:
"Bigger is not always better! and this show goes to prove that, the guys sounded great despite some minor glitches and they still put on 1 h*ll of a show just like they were playing for a packed house! We have gotten so use to the huge crowds CP attracts that when we have anything less then 500 people we start to panic! but sometimes a nice small intimate crowd is just as fun especially when they are such great friends!!!!!!!!!! Thanx to all that made the haul out there it's really not such a bad drive after all is it? LOL A BIG thank-you to Stef,Jewelz, Kevin & Jen, Jas, Michelle, Greg & Jeanine for all the great cards and presents! Loved em' all (of course i do they are all cherry related) thanx for making my b-day special, sorry i pooped out early but still not feeling up to par!!! luv you guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *~KAT~*"

The other "Tammy":
"Big E's Beach Club..what a warm and cozy crowd this Memorial Day weekend. Awesome time with a great group of cozy people.. ( well, I have to mention this-despite the fact that it only took 40 min to get to Big E's from my house -that was great, Well: not the case on the way home, it took 2 1/2 hours... miss our turn OOPS E DAISY - lone behold ended up Whitewater. I do not live anywhere near Whitewater.. so back on the rode again. We laughed, and laughed the next day, we traveling the country side as the sun was coming up, and the amount deer we did see, a hunters dream ) We met a several "interesting" locals @ Big E's... which they informed us several times through out the evening.. " man, these guys ROCK " so with the very cozy crowd indeed, Cherry Pie -you did pick up some more fans along the way, once again. (actually to be honest, it was nice for a change not getting smooshed or knock in head a couple times.. it was a HOOT of time ) and on a lighter note..it was very refreshing to travel somewhere new for Saturday outing, and to see so many great people... .big hugs and kisses to all.. ( Greg and Jeannie, Jewelz, Stef, Kat, Jen, the one Pegasus guy, and Jodi and so many other familar faces- you guys all made it a great evening!!! Until next time.. take care and enjoy the summer - I think it is finally here!!!"

Bittersweeteus:
"I guess you could call this a "beach club" per se. It did have some water, a little sand, but where were the beachballs and of course, the volleyball net. The beach clubs that I've been to in the past, have had all of these. But then what can you expect for an out of the way place. The place was quite small inside and the stage was quite petite to hold the equipment and the cp guys. But to no avail, the guys were able to make the best of it and put on one kick-ass show and had alot of fun doing it. The crowd was small, but they were somewhat rowdy and rocked with the band. John, whose persona was very adament, loved showing off his entertaining antics and the great way he can take charge of the night. And not to mention, looking very good in whatever he wore. It was a great night because it was like having a small private party to help start off a holiday weekend."

Greg Godina:
"Judging from the size of the crowd, the CP show at Big E's was something of a disappointment, but the guys of the band still put on 1 killer show. I loved Rico's Ray Charles impersonation(or was it Stevie Wonder?) and his and Shane's "Stomp" rendition. They put on such a great show that it pooped out 1 certain brunette that I know!!"

Dan:
"Hey-It's not you guys. Big E's couldn't get a dozen people there for The Stones. See ya at Tobacco Days"
