A Word from Josh: What an all around great night. This was a very cool event. Rooterpalooza actually includes four bands over two days. Obviously this was the "hard rock" night with The Toys and Sweet Tarts to perform tomorrow night. The whole thing benefits the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin and included a silent auction out in a tent just outside the stage door. I bid on a bunch of stuff early and was quite surprised to see that I was still the leading bidder on most of it several hours later. Anyway, the Metal Men started the show at about 8:00. We had worried that there might not be that many people on hand so early, but the early crowd turned out great, partly due to the free beer that Rooters was offering before 7:00. But I'm sure that most of the early birds were there to rock out with the Metal Men, a great band and a great bunch of guys. John, Dave and I enjoyed their show immensely. It was great to hear those awesome hard rock tunes from our younger days such as "Electric Eye", "Last In Line" and "Aces High". With the regular Cherry Pie crowd coming in, a couple of the Metal Men commented on how they normally play to crowds that are much more male-dominated. I guess there's something to be said for pulling out a sappy power-ballad once in a while. With such a strong early crowd and a great show from the Metal Men, I was getting really excited to hit the stage. Sure enough, when we went on at about 10:30 the place was packed and eager to feast on some PIE. Our show went pretty well, despite not using our normal production and crew. Eliminator Audio was hired by Rooters for the whole weekend and included our friends Steve Frye on sound and Dan Olsen on monitors. They all did a great job and were fun to work with. The night included the usual fare of birthday & bachelorette parties as well as beer company giveaways and, of course, a lot of sexy dancing right out in front of the stage in full view of our sweet innocent eyes. It's enough to give a guy some strange sensations in various parts of his body. It was all a great time and we'd like to especially thank bar manager Bill for inviting us to be a part of this great event. We'll be back at Rooters in just four weeks for their Summer Kick-off "Big Hair Beach Party" on June 17. If that night turns out to be anything like tonight, we're in for a great time. --Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Teripie: "Awesome gigs. Nice to see a band I hsdn't seen yet. It was great that my Ex co-worker John made it to the gig. Metal Men rocked. Cherry Pie is never a disappionment. again awesome gig, awesome friends." The journey from Berlin was well worth it. See you at the next show. Keep rockin hard!" Jewelz: "Another great show guys!!! Great time as always -- till Big E’s -- Have a wonderful week everyone!!!" The other "Tammy": "What a huge success for the " Children's Hospital ", what a amazing, supportive crowd that turn out for this event... kudos to all!!! What better way then to spend a Friday night with 800 of your closest friends...and of course none other then " Cherry Pie" putting on a phenomenal performance. We had brought along 8-10 CP Virgins... lets just say, there HOOKED... they will be back for more..... Cherry Pie once again, was incredible and will have more fans to add to the jammed packed shows. It was so nice to see allot new faces this time around, and allot of CP regulars.. Great big " Hello's " to Wendy and Dave, Greg and Jeanie, Steph, Jewelz ( looking cute as usual ), Tammy ( so fun banging our heads to the Metal Men while they play Judas Priest " You got another thing coming ") KAT , the beautiful Jodi, the Pegasus guys, the Dale Jr. look alike, and so many more.. .... hope to see everyone this weekend, and looking forward to on HELL of summer.!!!" |
