A Word from Josh: The cavernous Kelly's has always been one of the best rooms to play in and recent renovations have made it even better. Among other changes, the stage is now wider and more stable. Combine that with the long room, high ceiling and upwards of a thousand people and the Cherry Pie arena rock show was in full swing. My technical problems from the night before were fixed, but I managed to encounter a couple of new ones which, at times, made my guitar sound like Phyllis Diller on crack. In fact, a problem with the MIDI mapping in my processing rack led me to play "Love Song" on electric guitar instead of acoustic. That was kind of weird. Fortunately, everything was fixed for the second set, thanks largely to the efforts of sound crew guys Mark and Trevor (plus some other guy I don't even know). I really appreciate it guys. So, after three consecutive sets, over two nights, of frustrating technical difficulties I was finally able to really enjoy the final set at Kelly's along with the spectacular crowd. John, who was still feeling a bit ill, also fed off of the great crowd and put on a typically great performance and managed to have a lot of fun with the birthday and bachelorette parties going on. Things just kept getting wilder and wilder. Something had to give, especially after several women starting exposing themselves in the front row. This seemed to directly result in a blown fuse that knocked out Dave's guitar and half the light show during the Twisted Sister. You know, every once in a while this job is exactly as fun as it looks. See ya at Rooterpalooza! --Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Amanda: "What a great show as always!!! John, hope you feel better. Until next week at Rooterpalooza....C-ya" Nicole: "First time seeing you guys and you rocked it out!!! I've been waiting forever to see you and to say the least, I was not disapointed! Can't wait to see ya again! :)" Jewelz: "Well I have to say this show was a bit more tame compared to the IL trip, but that's ok cuz Kelly's is my favorite place to see a show...but then add the gang (Poison, Jen, Greg & Jeannie, the other Tammy, BLONDIE Dawn...what a wonderful surprise that was, My friend Dana...a 1st timer to the Pie, & can't forget The Pegasus Boys) and you got Nothin but a Good Time! We did however miss a few ppl (Kat, My Sexxy Dance Partner, Lonnie, Christ, HOT Stage guy Pat, and M.I.A Dawn?!?!) Great show guys, Oh and Dave had on a cool new shirt....we notice those things!! And John...hope you figured out something to wear home or used my suggestion! ;-) See ya all at ROOTERPALOOZA!!" Angie: "Holy Hell!! John, even under the weather, you're frieken awesome! Thanks for yet another kick ass show and a fun night out!!!" The other "Tammy": "Another HOOTER of a evening @ Kelley's II, and boy do I mean HOOTER ... no pun intended.. but; for those who were not standing up front, well towards the end of another outstanding CP show......the crowd up front got a little extra side show of their own from a group of cute girls, lets just say they decided to show us there HOOTERS.....what a great night again, fun was had by all, and to all a good night!!" Debbie: "It was another fantastic show. All of ya'll did a great job. Always enjoy your shows. John hope you feel better soon. Our prayers are with you. Debbie & Gary" Stef: "Another great show at Kelly's! Although it was sad to see that some people were unable to attend (Kat -hope you're feeling better- Jody, Dawn...) It was still good to see everyone else out having fun. Especially "the other Dawn" who is now blonde, and Tiffany, great to see you again! I can't wait for the Rooter's show on Friday. John I hope you're feeling better by then. Also a HUGE thank you for NOT ending the night w/ We're Not Gonna Take It. I like the song, don't get me wrong, but it was getting very predictable that it was going to be the last song of the night. You need to mix it up more. :) So thanks again for that! See you all on Friday!" Bittersweeteus: "This is a great bar where you can rock until the dawn. It's always full of eager fans ready to party. The CP guys added their own ingredients to stir up the fans even more. From their hardcore playing to their professional showmanship. Then there's John, who adds his own blend of unique talents. From his enticing, fun-loving charisma to his well driven aggressiveness. He even shows off his innovative ideas like hanging the microphone and stand from the ceiling which added a little spice to the show. Nice! I had a really great time seeing an awesome show and having some fun." Dawn: "Awesome show as always...haven't been to see you guys for awhile..Moving to Richland Center and all..thanks to my friends that night who cheered me up...you know who you ladies are...yes..my hair turned quite blonde..how ironic hey? See Ya -- Blondie Dawn" |
