A Word from Josh:
Once again Rooters proved why they are one of our best rooms. The house was packed and the crowd's quantity was exceeded only by their quality. I tell ya, these folks were particularly loud tonight, apparently caught up in the Valentine's Day spirit. John summarized the Cherry Pie attitude toward this holiday by saying, "If you didn't bring a date tonight, maybe you could leave with one." There were a few more notable things about the evening. We managed to debut three new songs, all of which went over great. Dave recently bought one of those guitar voice tube thingies, you know, that thing-a-ma-bob made famous by Peter Frampton's live version of "Do You Feel Like We Do". Well anyway, Dave put that device to good use on "Kickstart My Heart" and "Livin' on a Prayer". It sounded really kick-ass. Well worth the pain it is causing Dave. "That damn thing shook my fillings loose," he told me during the break. Another thing those two songs have in common is big gang vocals during the choruses. Well, I wasn't much help in that department because I had been struggling with a throat condition and was in poor voice (yes, even worse than usual). This confluence of circumstances prompted John to ask soundman Mark to give Rico a vocal mic during the soundcheck. Yup, Rico actually sang with Cherry Pie for the first time ever, much to the astonishment of his mother Marge who was cheering us on from the stage-left balcony for most of the show. Later on, she joined us on stage displaying the enthusiasm and energy that we can only aspire to. It's easy to see where Rico gets his moxie from. Also joining us on stage was a young bachelorette. This is certainly a common occurrence at Cherry Pie shows, but this spunky bride-to-be was particularly sassy and matched John's wise-ass comments is a very entertaining exchange. It's good to keep John on his toes once in a while.     --Josh

VOICES FROM THE CROWD:
Were you at this show?
Would you like to comment on it?

Bob:
"GREAT!!! I can't say enough! GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Brandi:
"As always great show guys! The crowd just keeps getting bigger in Waukesha! Thanks for keeping the 80's alive and rockin!"

CherryRose:
"Well, what could I possibly say about another awesome night with CP at Rooters!! It was particularly great because my cousin and I chose to rock the 80's gear in full force, appearing as Cherry Rose and Stacy Steele...what a rush!!! How could the night get even better you ask?? The boys sang We All Die Young!!! A perfect addition to an already perfectly rockin night! Well done and keep up the great work!! Oh, and thanks for the Tambourine experience Josh!!!"

Dave:
"It was so great, I wanted to tear my flesh from bone, because we all die young!!!!!"

Mel:
"Josh, you have an infectious smile - absolutely stunning. CP rules! I think I found my calling as a CP groupie.... Schaaaaa-wing."

Bittersweeteus:
"The night started out as usual, the crowd was getting primed and riled up for the show. As CP got on the stage in their calmly manner, they suddenly kickstarted the show with a new kick-ass song from one of my favorite bad boy bands, Motley Crue. They fired up the stage with their non-stop energy giving the fans an appetite for more. John, using his manly wiles and wearing those complimentary form-fitting clothes, was like Dr. Feelgood, keeping everyone going until the end. With new songs thru the show and rock'n fun, in was a great night. Also, guys, congratulations on being nominated for the WAMI Award. Good Luck!!"
