A Word from Josh:
This family-friendly festival takes place in a beautiful park and we're glad to have been able to take part in it. Compared to yesterday's hectic day at Summerfest, tonight's show was quite relaxing. For me, it was so relaxing that it almost made me throw up. Well, actually, that was because a friend's 8-year-old daughter invited me to ride on the "Zipper" shortly before the show. For those who may not know, the Zipper is one of those mobile carnival rides where they lock you in a small cage, lift you high up in the air and then spin you upside down. I swear, they ought to have one of these at Abu Ghraib. Actually, I'm sure there was a time in my life when I would have really enjoyed riding this thing all night, but these days I'm just grateful that my stomach is still willing to keep down the burgers and hot dogs in the best of conditions. So, I spent much of the first set just trying to regain my constitution. Anyway, the show went pretty well, save for some recurring feedback problems. The stage, placed at one end of a medium-sized beer tent, sported the typical support pole at the front dead center. During "Ah Leah", I made a clumsy attempt to use is as a stripper pole. Hey, I've never done that kind of thing before! A short time later, Shane proved more successful swinging around the pole, bass guitar and all, to the delight of many female onlookers. Still, there were some in the crowd who felt the need to show us how it's done. And, show us they did turning what had been a family event into a seedy dance club. All according to plan. Toward the end, as we came back onto the stage for an encore, Dave and I engaged in a good old fashioned guitar duel. We've done this a couple of times before, but I thought that this one was particularly cool. 'Makes me wonder if we should plan to do that kind of thing more often in the future. What do you think?     --Josh

VOICES FROM THE CROWD:
Were you at this show?
Would you like to comment on it?

Jessy:
"I took the long trek from Stoughton to Grafton, and it was well worth the trip, despite the audio difficulities. The guys still rocked hard, and the people,(women especially) were loving it, and seeing how it was a holiday weekend, I think the turn out was quiet good, it was no Kelly's or Badger Bowl but it was good. My kids loved it too!!!!! Keep up the good work guys!!
Love Peace and Rock~N~Roll
Jessy"

Linda Dawn & Trish:
"What can I say!! I wish I would have had my camera - better yet, my video camera!! Whenever we get together and go out, we always have a good time, BUT when we go out to see Cherry Pie, we have an f---in' awesome time!! Hope you guys enjoyed the show as much as we did! Rock on and see you soon!
Linda (The one John doesn't remember!)"

Jeanine:
"My daughter and myself traveled from Waukesha to Grafton. It was a 45 minute drive. You guys were wonderful as usual. My daughter and I danced and sang to the music. We had a great time! Love you guys all the time! You're sexy too!"

Laurel Canyon:
"Well, I was dragging from Summerfest the nite before, but, boy, CP sure wasn't!! They turned into Wild Men on stage!!! I don't know if it was the full moon, girls pole dancing, or a bit of both, but it was a blast watching them have so much FUN on stage!!! And it was worth the 2 1/2 hr. ride home to IL!!!"

Greg Godina:
"The gig in Grafton was a blast! Josh, you and Dave should have your version of "Dueling Banjos" more often, but name "Dueling Axes" instead!"

Glenda:
"The show was so good, to good, I was late for work. It was worth it! I was a little disappointed by the pole in my view of John, but after a few drinks, I was dancing on it also. When ever Tammy and I get to see your show, we always have a great time. Tammy and I think CP is the best local band in WI. Keep it up!!"
