A Word from Josh:
After a week of miserable weather this weekend turned out beautiful. It got us itchin' to get to those outdoor shows. This was the last indoor show (as a headliner) of the season and we were just hoping that some people would show up. As it turns out, that was not a problem as we drew a respectable crowd of about 400. A big chunk of that crowd was related to Rico as he had many family members on hand to celebrate a cousin's birthday. Many familiar faces appeared in the "front line" of the crowd up against the stage. Speaking of faces, I was able to draw some attention to my own by pulling the ol' "shave at the break" stunt (which I did once before 4/21/00). My goatee had gotten pretty bushy and I had to hack away at it quite a bit to get rid of it within the time constraints. Fortunately, I was able to get the bleeding under control in time for the second set. You know, one of the best things about being in a popular band is the generosity of the fans. Tonight I need to thank Kat for the cool cherry wristband, Nicole for the delicious chicken wrap and Denise who spent the afternoon at Chocolate Fest just down the road in Burlington and brought me back some chocolate-covered cherries. With all the money we spend on expensive musical equipment & maintenance, it's great that so many folks are willing to help support our other indulgent habits... such as eating. So, next week we'll be playing an opening set for Firehouse at Rooters and then after that we are looking forward to many great outdoor shows. It looks to be our best summer ever and we hope you'll be a part of it.     --Josh

VOICES FROM THE CROWD:
Were you at this show?
Would you like to comment on it?

Kittykat:
"Great show as usual!!! John seemed extremely happy and hyper and put on quite the performance, Josh pulled a Jeckyl and Hyde act by starting the first set with a furry face and started the second set with a baby smooth face!!!! Shane looked alittle shall we say "flustered" when 2 certain sexy ladies arrived! It was nice to see Rico's family members, seeing Rico's brother made us crave spaghetti for some odd reason!! Thanx for the laughs and the tears!!! YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!!!! DARN "BED OF ROSES" loved meeting those wild Illinois girls they sure can party! :) I had a blast rocking the night away with my 3 sexy dance partners........but Stef you sure were missed!!!! :( we will make up for it on Friday!!!

PS: Forgot to mention.....Maribeth it was so good to see you still rockin out!!! I love rubbin that belly!! And sorry guys hubby bought those shots for you guys during "Have a drink on me" but the shots were either consumed or sat on by some front row fans!!!"

Bittersweeteus:
"Now this was a night of what dreams are made of because it went so smoothly without any flaws or mishaps. The band played with such zeal from song to song, that it was hard at times to get off the dance floor! The beachballs, now they added fun to the show with everyone getting involved. John was intriguing. With his charisma and feisty demeanor, he kept the crowd wanting more. I left the night with some great memories and the feeling of hysteria!"

Jewelz:
"Well it's been awhile since I've seen you guys at Kelly's which is my favorite place to see you guys play! And as always it was again by far the best place to see you guys play! The evening was extra special with so many wonderful friends there to enjoy the evening with (Kitty Kat, Jody, Michelle, Dawn, Jen, and Dawn) and we even brought along some new comers to see you guys and they fully enjoyed the show (Tony & John). I believe they said, these guys rock and we even got John on the dance floor when he said there is no way I'm dancing! :) but unfortunatley the night was not totally complete as one familar face was not present (Poisonchick) and she was totally missed!!"

CPLuva:
"Josh, I think I've figured it out (about the goatee)... For better or worse, you look like Bob Seeger from about 25-30 years ago with the goatee (or at least you did when you had it). Not sure if thats a compliment or not, but just thought you'd want to know....."

Torrey Spinelli:
"Show was great, but tell the sound guy to crank down the high end. Tell Rico that Dr. Evil is evil?"

Michelle:
"What a wonderful way to spend a birthday. Yummy cocktails, sexy friends, and dancing all night to Cherry Pie. I need to send out an apology to John, Shane, and Joshy for my bad behavior at the end of the night. It's no excuse, but alcohol can make you say the darndest things. I plea temporary insanity. Anyhow I want you to know that I know and appreciate that you wanted to play Monkey business for my birthday... for us, and that Rico just hasn't learned it yet, even though back in December he promised that he would learn it in a week. Just wanted to say sorry for my misdirected, spoiled brat behavior, but you did promise us over a year ago that since we drive at a minimum of two hours everytime we come to see you guys that the last song was ours. Apparently, Someone didn't get the memo or doesn't care. Okay,I'm done whining now. As always you guys put on a fabulous show for us, and we had a blast. We do try our best to entertain you guys too! I don't know if you've ever noticed??? Hope your show goes well on Friday, sure wish I could be there. My love and apologies to my favorite CP boys."
