A Word from Josh: Expectations were low coming into this show. The club, nestled on the end of a rural back road between Marshall and Sun Prairie, does not have a reputation for big crowds, even for the best bands. Then add to that the fact that falling snow was making driving very hazardous. We even had trouble before the show when our truck got stuck on the side of the road. John, Tracy and Shane helped Brian and Dan to dig it out. At this point we wondered if ANYBODY was going to show up for this gig. As we prepared for sound check we celebrated the arrival of the 6th paying customer because at that point we knew that the crowd would at least outnumber the band! All told, about 50 people joined us out on the edge of nowhere for an evening of Cherry Pie fun. A few familiar faces came from surprisingly far away including a group that traveled the hazardous roads down from Fond du Lac. We were very grateful for the enthusiasm of the small crowd, many of whom expressed appreciation for being a part of such an "intimate" performance. And we still managed to make a few new friends of some first-timers that wondered in off of the tundra. Once again, you folks proved that, no matter the miserable circumstances, a Cherry Pie show can always be fun (hey, at least this room was well-heated). --Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Bittersweeteus: "What a night! Even though there wasn't alot of people, I have to say, we all had, Nothing but a good time! The band played some old songs that brought back some good memories, especially one of my favorites, Can't get Enuff. John was very appealing with the way he enticed the people, including myself, with his invigorating moves and aggressive demeanor. I can't explain, but I was very impressed!" Teri: "It turned out to be a super night anyway! Yes the crowd was small but we all rocked hard! This place was hugh so it would be nice to get more people out there next time! It was nice to get on the stage and dance & sing! Me & my brother had a truly fryey Friday! We will be back! You guys just never let us down! xoxo" Becky: "You definitely made some new fans! To sum up the show succinctly: fervor, flavor, and fun...thanks so much for such a wonderful time! I hope to see another of your shows soon..." Krista: "I came to this show with very high expectations! My sister and her boyfriend would brag about the band all the time, so I decided to join them and I will definitely come back for more. The best thing about the show was how great they sounded but also how the band likes to get to know their fans. Lusious Rod, you really made some fans think that they were important and we love ya. See you in Madison with my Cherry Pie shirt!" |
