A Word from Josh: Out on the Not-So-Frozen Tundra of south Madison we managed to put on another successful show at the Badger Bowl. This was our 31st time at this venue, but who's counting? We've played there so many times that I walked in Saturday afternoon and said "Honey, I'm home!" The show really was great, with a capacity crowd rockin' our world. But, I couldn't help wonder if there's not something more to life. OK, I'm just kidding. A show like this is always a reason to feel good. As usual, there were old friends, new friends, birthday parties and even a few people who came a few miles to see us. Perhaps most notably, Colleen, on leave from the Navy, drove to the show from Milwaukee after driving up from her Naval base in Virginia a couple of days earlier. Also, "Original Cherry Pie Superfan" Cheryl came down from Wisconsin Rapids and Tony came up from Monroe with a big group of people to celebrate his birthday. We even agreed to dig Tony's favorite song "Fantasy" out of mothballs for the occassion. Apparently he appreciated it as, late in the night, his alcohol-enhanced rock'n'roll spirit got the best of him and he had to be escorted off of the stage more than once. But hey, he's good people and we admire his unbridled enthusiasm. Our next show will be just up the road in Lodi. I know that we will change the setlist as much as possible in hopes that some of this Badger Bowl crowd will come out for some more Pie next Saturday. --Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Bittersweeteus: "The ambience of the place was wild and crazy! All through the night, the band did a great job of keeping the crowd energized. To add a little pizazz to the beginning of the show, there was an array of shimmering confetti and spirals. John was filled with alot of vitality and that outfit, if looks could kill. It was an extreme night and a little more than words would help to explain it even further." a scarce fan: "The fight was better than the show!!" Jessy: "It had been a long time since I was able to get to a show, but I more than made up for it. The guys were not dissapointing, and it was nice to see some old friends. And I met some intresting people. Keep Rockin guys, and I will see you again soon. P.S. Hey spiderman, Email me" |
