A Word from Josh: This was our first time back in Racine in over three years. The club has only recently started having live music again and this show was booked less than two weeks ago. The result was somewhat underwhelming. The crowd of less than 150 was highlighted by a few regulars who made the trip and a few newer faces whose enthusiasm helped give us the energy to put on a pretty good show. The bar featured some well-placed sofas amongst the bar stools and tables which seemed like a pretty cool idea, but I wonder how well they manage to keep them clean. Also featured near the back of the room was a lovely Christmas Tree. We did our best to raise some spirits and occassionally got some help. Ed and Kurt from the band 76 Juliet played with us for a song. Ron from the band Head Games came up from Chicago with some of his bandmates and took over the mic for a part of "Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin'". It was good to see Racine natives Scott and Connie again. Scott was serving as the club DJ on this night and he played some jammin' tunes when we weren't playing. Other locals promised us that Racine could really become hot for Cherry Pie once they help get the word out. I just hope we don't have to wait another three years to give them that chance. -Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Jen: "Hey guys!!! Had a great time at the show!! Thanks for letting us sing the "Na-Na's" with ya!! I saw ya a while back at Rooters and I have to say that you guys seem to have so much more energy! Thanks for the fun and never stop Rockin!!!" kittykat: "loved the show, as usual. yes it was a small quiet crowd but nice just the same!!! Optyx is a really cool place and it would be great if you played there again! Scott is a killer DJ he has some great old school stuff!!!!!!!!! and Connie has hair as "pretty" as Josh's!!!!!!!! :)" Mel: "We've been waiting & WAITING for you guys to come around the area again! What took you so long? Given the small crowd it was still a blast. Less crowded for my taste and more room to dance. There were some Cherry Pie virgins-pardon the pun;)- among us who were took a kind liking to you guys. I'm telling ya, don't be a stranger to the southern counties and we'll be there-with bells on!" Jessy: "I had alot of fun at the show. Maybe even too much fun. Got to see some "regs" that I havent seen for a long time. and got to spend time with old friends. It is also nice to see Cherry pie in other venues besides Madison too. See ya on Friday" |
