A Word from Josh:
Magic was in the air tonight. Over 400 people came to party and party we did. John put together a particularly hard driving set list and the crowd rocked just as hard right from the opening riff of "Lay It Down". The show came off very smoothly and the positive energy just continued to build on itself all night, resulting in what I think was one of our best shows ever. The only downside was that Firehouse and Ratt were playing down the road in Racine. Not only would we have liked the opportunity to see that show, but many of our "Regulars" were there instead of at Rooters. It's nice to know that we can still draw a great crowd without them, but it still would have been nice to share the great time with those folks. And it was definitely a great time, including the celebrating of several birthdays, which I always like because it usually means that there's going to be a big cake somewhere. Now, I can't finish without talking about Rico's drum solo. What can I say? The Man was HOT! Drum solos are often a double-edged sword, appealing to some while turning off others. But, on this night Rico had the whole crowd eating out of his hand as he played one of the most exciting drum solos I've ever seen. He brought it to a stunning climax with a combination of his double bass drums and double strokes on the snare with his right hand as he twirled the other stick over his head with his left hand. He then launched into the intro for "Hot For Teacher" as the crowd went absolutely nuts. At this point I was watching from the balcony as I sang my back-ups with my wireless microphone. For a moment I tried to imagine that I was just walking in to see this band for the first time. It was a bit of a surreal moment as I thought to myself, "Damn, these guys are hot!" while watching my own band absolutely blow away an awesome crowd. Life is good :-)     -Josh

VOICES FROM THE CROWD:
Were you at this show?
Would you like to comment on it?

jackncokes_sidekick:
"I came to the show to give Josh his "bonk" which he received more than 1 of. Besides the thrill of the bonk, the show was awesome, band sounded great and the guys looked good.... as always! especially that Danny up in the balcony :) I didn't realize it was so crowded until you saw all the people partying on the dance floor. Thanks for the awesome evening of 80's guys!!!"

Wendy & Rich:
"AWESOME as usual. We have seen you about 7 times now, and are quickly becoming groupies! (Of course we do have to get home once in a while for the kids LOL!) You guys are the BEST!!! Thanks for keeping the best music of the 80's going strong! Could you play "Lay it On the Line" or "Fight the Good Fight" by Triumph at your sets?? Pleeease!!"

Teri:
"Not to sure if I was going to make it to the gig.But wow I'am so happy I made it out. I have to say this was one of your best gigs I have seen. I don't know who was having more fun cp. or the crowd? I couldn't stop smiling. It was truly A nite. Hope Shane enjoyed the Hot Sex shot. Love ya guys see you in Oconomowoc!"

Tammy:
"Well, despite being mercilessly teased this morning by a younger co-worker (you know who you are) for taking yet another trip in "the way back machine", I had an AWESOME time at Rooters on Saturday night. I especially loved that you guys played part of a Steel Dragon song (and I wasn't the only one totally getting into it :-). I don't know if it's right to cover a song by a band that's not even "real" to begin with, but I'd love to hear that song in it's entirety sometime. Hanging out on the upper level for part of the second set, it was also really cool to get the "aerial view" of the huge crowd of partyers on the dance floor rushing toward the stage to "have a drink on CP".nice touch. O.k., now I just need a geography lesson.anyone know how to get to Racine and/or Oconomowoc??? ;-) I can't wait to see CP play these "new" venues, should be a blast!!!!"

Bittersweeteus:
"I never saw a show quite like this before. The guys were more then just great, they were invigorating! The energy just naturally poured out of them. John had fun singing his songs and as usual, looked fantastic and kept the crowd going. The cp guys, the songs, and the atmosphere, made it a great night for me. I always love seeing the cp guys and never tire of it. You're the best!!!"
