A Word from Josh: At the risk of sounding like a broken record... This was another great show. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised to see that the stage had been refurbished, providing a larger and more solid surface for us to rock on. We were heartened to see the large crowd get into the spirit more quickly than during our last visit to Kelly's. We were also inspired by some friends who traveled great distances to catch the show. Popular redhead Jody came up all the way from Iowa. Musician friends Kevin, Jim and Steve of the band ARRA came up from Chicago with some friends. Jessy came over from Madison with enthusiastic friends Michelle and Jessica. Cathy and birthday girl Barb came down from Sheboygan. We had a lot of fun all night and it appeared that a lot of other people did too. John did get a little serious for a moment during the second set. "I don't want to get political," he told the crowd. After all, even within the band, there is very little agreement on politics. But we did feel inspired to play White Lion's "When the Children Cry" as a reflection on world events. The last time we played it was right after the 9/11 attack. It went over very well. I was moved to see how many people sang along with it. Of course, the fun resumed right where it left off and we managed to finish the night with quite a large and boisterous crowd still hanging around. - Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Sheila: "AWESOME!!! I always have a kickass time each time I go to see you guys play!! You bring out the WILD in everyone. Hands Down, Cherry Pie Rules when it comes to Rockin Down the House!!! Can't wait to see ya next time, I know I won't stop dancing till the clock stops. Thanks again for putting on an energy packed show!!!" Shannon: "Your show rocked! A co-worker who's been a fan of yours for 4 years said "you gotta go see these guys, they just wail" and I was VERY impressed! I danced all night long, and had a BLAST! We will definitely be coming to another show very soon - thanks for the GREAT TIME!!!!" |
