A Word from Josh:
Anybody who has seen Cherry Pie knows that Dave has an awesome rippin' guitar tone. But with that tone comes a price. His screamin' tube amp head can be temperamental at times as it was as we set up for this show. It was discovered that due to the electrical configuration of the stage his amp was going to make a terrible buzzing noise if we left it where it normally goes. So, with less than an hour before showtime it was determined that he and I were going to have to switch sides of the stage. To me, this was like my worst nightmare, having to move all of my equipment to stage left in just a few minutes after having spent a couple of hours getting it "just right" on stage right. But with major teamwork from band and crew it actually went pretty smoothly and after some tense moments we were able to start on time. And, once the show started everything seemed to go right. One result of this last minute shuffling was that I would be sharing a side of the stage with Shane for the first time ever. It was actually pretty cool. Ya know what? He's a pretty good singer and he smells nice. Plus, he put up with me pretty well. The show went great. The club was packed, although I thought that if everybody would have just stood up straight and limited their breathing we probably could have fit a few more people into the room. Included in the crowd were several co-workers of mine, most of whom were seeing the band for the first time. They were there to celebrate Jill's Birthday. Now, there's one lady who really likes to party. She proved to be really wild, even by Cherry Pie standards. Of course there were many other friends and various "regulars" in the crowd, you know who you are. I hope you guys didn't get too much "Pie" because we'll be playing down the road at the Dry Bean Saloon in just three weeks. See ya there.     - Josh
