A Word from Josh:
Another good turnout at the cavernous Kelly's, site of our New Year's Eve show a few weeks ago. Maybe it's just too cold out, but the crowd definitely took their time to warm up. For the first half hour they seemed content to sit and watch keeping a distance from the stage, although the cheering between songs was quite enthusiastic. Maybe they were blinded by Dave's new pants. They were black with yellow flames coming up from the bottom, made of some kind of shiny rubber or plastic and very tight. Well, after John promised the audience that we didn't smell bad, we were finally able to fill the dance floor and the show rocked from that point on. Maribeth brought her "Cherry Pie Groupie Barbie" doll. I couldn't help but make some crude visuals with it. Kudos to Shane for keeping a straight face and continuing to sing as the doll appeared to "perform favors" on him. Bartender Dawn doesn't work much at Kelly's anymore because of her new college degree and new job (yes, she's moving up in the world, congratulations) but of course she was on hand to support "The Pie". Having her come up on stage and do a seductive dance during "Wanted Dead or Alive" has been quite a tradition for us. Overall, it was a very good night, but I do have one complaint... Apparently, Kelly's hosts pudding wrestling during the week and afterward they dispose of the "used" pudding out through the back door. Looks like a messy job. So, after loading our equipment in and out of the room through that same door... well, let's just say some of us have what looks like rhino diarrhea on our shoes (ech!) Well, see you next week at Nicks!     - Josh
