A Word from Josh: Once again Bamboo Bob's pushed the envelope and forced the question, "What happens when you cram a big rock show attended by a mob of wild rock fans into a small space?" Yes, things were pretty wild and the excitement was pretty intimate. Coming off stage after the first set I found myself surrounded by beautiful women who didn't mind the close quarters and made it difficult for me to cross over to the dressing room, although I must admit I wasn't trying real hard :-P One young lady even walked up to me and planted a big kiss on my chest leaving a sexy lipstick mark which proudly I wore for the rest of the night as a badge of rock'n'roll hedonism. God, I love being in a band! This was one of those nights where putting on a good high-energy show was pretty easy. It almost felt like we were surfing on the crowd's energy and giving it back to them. This was particularly evident during "Wanted Dead or Alive" when the crowd sang so loud that John was able to just stand there and conduct all the way through. There were a lot of people who really kept the party hot up against the stage all night. I'd like to mention a few that stick out in my memory including the "Fondy Four" Lisa, Suzy, Shannon and Jenny (who drove down from Fond du Lac) as well as the foxy mother/daughter team of Juanita and Sarah who both are celebrating birthdays this week and who joined about a half dozen other birthday gals on stage for our traditional birthday salute. The newer songs were well-received once again but I really got off on the tremendous response we got from one of our old standards and my personal favorite "Tom Sawyer". That song has always kicked ass in this particular room for some reason. In the end, when the sweat was drained from our bodies and the confetti mess gave way to after-show pizza, came the realization that we have to do this all over again tomorrow night in Madison. Well, I say "Bring it on!" - Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Bamboo Bob: "The owner and staff of Bamboo Bob's wants to thank CP for yet another great show. The energy level and kick ass crowd makes your shows the most entertaining that we have at club. We all look forward to your next show." Lisa: "Despite the small quarters, the "Fondy Four" had our BEST time yet at a Cherry Pie show! Thanks to all!!!" Juanita (Yes, Sara's mom): "Thanks, guys for a wonderful show at Bamboo Bob's. You help made our birthday celebration a lasting memory. God, did I have fun! You're gorgeous, talented and very nice! Josh, your hair is in my memory. John, keep pumping the iron, as you can see, it pays off. Thanks Nick, Dave and Shane. We'll be back! - Love ya!" |
