A Word from Josh: This was our first show of the new year and it came after three and a half weeks since our last show, during which we rehearsed several new songs and worked on improving other areas of the show. As a result, this show seemed very "fresh" to us and I hope that it did for the audience as well. Speaking of which, the crowd was awesome, much bigger than our last couple of Rooters' shows and LOUD enough to knock us around the stage all night. John even let them sing the SECOND verse of "Wanted Dead or Alive", a very rare occurrence indeed. We managed to debut 6 new songs, the most on one single night since our first show as Cherry Pie over three years ago. All were well-received, especially "Girls Girls Girls" which drew a roar from the crowd the instant they heard the motorcycle engine that starts the song. Shane also knocked 'em dead as a flamboyant front man on Alice Cooper's "School's Out". We also brought back a few songs which we had not played in quite a while including "Final Countdown" and "Can't Get Enough". Unfortunately, as we were concentrating so hard on the new material, there were moments when we seemed to forget how to play some of the old tunes. But the flubs were easily outnumbered my great moments on this memorable night. Long time fan Sheila (who helped with our hair along with Stef) was celebrating her birthday and it turns out she wasn't the only one. We ended up with a row of about a dozen women on stage getting the Cherry Pie rump-smacking birthday treatment. This served as a reminder that, despite the new year's sense of renewal, there are some things we really don't want to change. - Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Muttley: "What a way to start out the new year, a night at Rooter's!!!! With the bands new show and new songs, it was definitely a way to get the blood going!! And some of the new songs kept everyone dancing. The energy was high enough that they even sang along. The best part was the pyro technics. It was a fun filled night, looking forward to the next show." TexanWoman: "Last night was the best night in my intire life. My friends were right. I'm a new girl and I just moved here from Houston Texas. I never seen a band that has so much fun out on stage and you guys really get the people going. I love where I'm living and I will see you guys at the next show. Nick the cutest guy out of the whole band." Tina: "Wow you guys need to take breaks more often..Because waiting for a show like you put on all rested and hyper is well worth the wait!!! And all the new songs were awesome, everyone was pumped!!" Bittersweeteus: "I agree it sure was a kickass show!! I sure was getting energized with all the excitement that was stirring up last night. I didn't want the night to end, because by the time the show ended I was getting my second wind and it was hard for me to settle down. I guess I'll have to save it for the next show. And by the way, Josh, what is that on your face, a flavor savor?" Cherry: "You guys really teared the roof off and all you guys looked very hot and you had our blood rushing and after the show I wished there was more. Love Ya'll and keep up the good work." Sheila: "I have to agree with everyone. You guys were on and ROCKIN' or should I say Smokin'. You had Rooter's going crazy!!!! I had a blast and just want to say thanks to you guys and Stefanie and Carrie for a great birthday night! I have to agree with Cherry....you guys did look hot, but then again I guess Stef and I can take a tiny bit of credit for you Josh & Nick! Shane honey you are hot no matter what! Great to see you smiling so much last night!! Josh....don't shave the goatee off. I think you look great with it! John you were ON!!! Dave....I don't think I ever seen you so "wild" on stage - LOL" foreveryoung8: "You guys were very pumped. I liked the new songs and it was great to see some pyro again. I had nver been to Rooters and liked the set up at the bar, it was fun to check out the band from the 2nd level, what a view. Thanks for making my birthday night fun as well even though I was too chicken to go on stage. Also, I dont know if it was just not wearing the hat, or the powerful voice when he sings but shane was definately SMOKIN that night! Happy 3rd anniversary to the band ! thanks for 3 great years!" |
