A Word from Josh: Today's weather was oppressively hot, much like yesterday's. But, unlike yesterday, today's show was open air in a beach setting, the type of place most people wouldn't mind hanging out on a particularly hot day. So we drew a pretty sizeable crowd which is also fun. Another bit of good news was the fact that this morning I was able to fix the damage to my primary guitar that was sustained during last night's show. That's quite a relief. Overall it was a fun show in typical Sunset Bar style which includes waitresses running around and pouring booze from the bottle directly into people's mouths. But, alas, this tropical paradise was not to last as our show was cut short by a ominous thunderstorm that rolled in during the second set. We stopped playing and powered down because of the lightning and covered our gear to protect it from the approaching rain. But, aside from a few drops, the rain stayed away for a while. Once it was determined that the show would not resume, we packed up and loaded out as quickly as we could. The heavy rain finally hit just as we were putting the last pieces of equipment in the truck. It's nice that every once in a while Mother Nature will show us that kind of courtesy. Everybody, please keep in mind that we have another Sunset show coming up on the afternoon of Sunday, August 19. See you then. -Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? : "" |
