A Word from Josh: We played at the Cottage Grove Firemen's Festival for the first time last year and we couldn't help but reflect back. Andy was singing with us that evening but he wasn't a permanent member of the band yet. He was filling in for John who was recovering from his Achilles injury. The show that night started off very well, but then a thunderstorm rolled in after the first set and dangerous lightning led to the cancelation of the show at that point. As we rolled into Firemen's Park today we were reassured by our weather forecasting apps that these circumstances would not be repeated this year. But, you know what? Apps can sometimes be wrong. Indeed, Mother Nature trolled us once again and forced an early end to the festivities with lightning and very heavy rain. This despite the fact that nothing of the sort was in the forecast until the storm was almost upon us. On the bright side, tonight's show lasted well into the second set before we had to call it quits and, up to that point, the show was going great. We had a really great crowd, no doubt largely because of the deceptively rosy weather forecast. Most of them ended up going home wet but happy. -Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Tammy: "Went to see cherry pie tonight. Great band and want to see them again here in Columbus. Got to hug Josh. Really liked the drummer. Maybe I can get a hug from him next time. They were all nice looking. I recommend seeing them." Sandie: "Always a great time!" |
