A Word from Josh:
I've commented before about the challenge of playing in a room without a stage. In the past we've set up right on the floor in the corner at Brock's River Walk which means that a majority of the crowd could not see us... well, most of them could see my head because of my grotesquely excessive height but I suspect that fact is not particularly satisfactory. Anyway, tonight we were able to bring in a temporary stage and I think the result was a tremendous improvement. Especially important considering the place was pretty much filled to capacity all night and I'm pretty sure they all appreciated being able to see more than just me. The energy of the crowd was off the charts, led in large part by a birthday girl who was celebrating the big 21 with her wild and crazy friends. Very lucky for us. Unfortunately I was not able to enjoy the festivities as completely as I normally would because of a series of momentary technical problems which began on the first song when I accidentally kicked the power cable which was feeding electricity to all of my equipment out of the wall outlet. Gotta love that. Later I had issues with guitar cables getting tangled with my pedals. Eventually I settled down and was able to enjoy the latter portion of the evening. And why not?... we kicked ass, if I do say so myself, and so did the crowd. I have to admit that we are a bit surprised to find Brock's River Walk emerging as one of our most exciting venues.     --Josh
