A Word from Josh: We played here at the 1175 Sports Park and Eatery for the first time eight weeks ago and immediately recognized it as a room we'd really like to return to time and time again because of its quality stage, house production and overall lay-out. However, that debut show was not particularly well-attended and while tonight was a bit better in that regard, there was still plenty of room for more. Come on folks, this is a great room to see a band and we all need to support places like this. Those people wonderful enough to be in attendance tonight witnessed an amusing oddity midway through the show when something happened that started as a joke from Andy. As we began playing "Living on a Prayer" Andy announced that our trusty roadie Quinton Kufahl would be singing this Bon Jovi classic. Andy did this in jest because, after all, Quinton is a fine drummer and he has been known to be handy as one of our most trusted roadies, but we had never heard him sing nor has he ever claimed to be a singer. Nonetheless Quinton heard this announcement and sprung into action. He took the microphone determined to not make a liar out of Andy and you know what? He did pretty well. He knew most of the words and didn't sound horrible. Plus, he made up for any deficiencies in his vocals with raw charm and unpretentious goofiness. I say, I do believe there is a future for this young man in show business. BTW, when he's not setting up our confetti cannons and wiping our butts Quinton can be found playing with a Kiss Tribute Band called Mr Speed. You should check them out if you get a chance. Meanwhile, we'll be back at 1175 on April 6 and, I really mean it, come out and support this awesome room!! -Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? : "" |
