A Word from Josh: It's always a big shift to move from the big outdoor Summer shows to the bar gigs of the Fall and Winter, made a bit ironic by the continued unseasonably warm weather we've been experiencing. Adding to the transition is the fact that Arthur's is one of our smaller venues with a small stage and a low ceiling. Being a supper club it's no surprise that they have great food, which they were gracious enough to share with us before the show. Following my multiple trips to the fish fry buffet I barely squeezed into my stage clothes and waddled to the stage. The room was pretty packed, at least in part due to the Homecoming activities of the local high school. One alumnus in attendance was none other than our own former bass player Shane Loy, a self-described star of the 1982 Spring Green wrestling team. He seemed to be having a great time and joined us on stage to sing a song. This was the second time he has graced us with his presence in two weeks. I asked if he could rejoin the band, not to replace Kase, but rather to just hang out as a vaguely defined sixth member. Well, that's pretty unlikely, but it's always great to hang with him. -Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? : "" |
