A Word from Josh: This was our last festival show of the year and, falling in late September, one would normally expect us to have to deal with some chilly weather. As it turned out, this gig landed in the middle of a early Autumn heat wave which produced a rather hot afternoon and a picture perfect evening. Oh, if only all of our outdoor shows had such good conditions. Our performance was a part of "Party on the Pavement" which is an event spanning several city blocks of downtown Racine and featuring many diverse merchants. The stage we played on was set up in the far corner of the Porcaro Indian Motorcycle dealership parking lot. We were the last of three bands to play which meant a bit of a tight set-up schedule, especially considering that we decided at the last minute to provide most of our own PA system after seeing what was being provided. Special thanks to our long-time sound man Matt Wobst for going above and beyond to make that happen. It would have been nice to set up our own lights too, but that was impractical under the circumstances. So the show was basically done without a light show (we did manage use the "video wall") which I found rather disconcerting. But I guess the big thing that was on many people's minds was that this was the official debut of our new lead singer Andrew Gonzales. It wasn't really all that much of a shock to our system since Andrew had filled-in on lead vocals five times previous to tonight. He performed very well and was very well-received by the crowd, especially during the second set when he seemed more relaxed and established some easy going banter with the audience. Overall the event was fun and the crowd showed us a good time. It would be great to come back next year.     -Josh VOICES FROM THE CROWD: Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? SheilaKay: "Love Andrew L Gonzales's vocals-!" Nunya Biz: "So he has short hair... James from Metallica cut his hair, CJ from Firehouse cut his hair, and many other musicians of 80s bands cut their hair too. The hair does not make the music, but the heart behind the musicians. So his hair is short- give it a rest and keep rocking with them or move on!" Former fan: "Good point. I believe I will move on. This is not the Cherry Pie that I remember. You guys made a big mistake." Scotti: "Great show. Welcome Andy!"
