A Word from Josh: Frankie and I both arrived at the open air venue at about 3:15 in the afternoon. It was raining so hard that getting out of our vehicles felt like the equivalent of jumping in a lake. Obviously, load-in and set up would have to be put on hold. Fortunately the rain finally departed, we squeegeed the standing water off of the stage and we were able to set up the show and start on time under partly cloudy skies. Still, the threat of more wet weather hung over us. Midway through the first set John jinxed us when, in a perfect moment of instant-Karma, he announced to the crowd, "It looks like the rain is going to miss us." Before he had even finished the sentence raindrops had begun falling on the crowd which sent most of them scurrying toward the nearby beer tent. The precipitation lasted only about a minute and never returned the rest of the night, but the moment was too perfect. Overall, the show was well-attended for a Thursday but I know some people stayed home because of the weather. The backbone of tonight's crowd was the party thrown at the nearby home of Jon and Jacki Marks. I've mentioned them before having parties around shows at the Roadhouse just up the street. This time they extended their guest list to their daughter Kylee and many of her college friends who populated the front of row of the crowd much of the night. Thumbs way up for that. -Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? : "" |
